Hey everyone.

I have about 60 chaos cultists from three dark vengeance sets, but I want to make a full cultist army, so I need MOAR! How can I go about converting them? All I have is a bunch of IG catachans with lasguns.

Would those work, considering a lasgun has the same profile as an autogun? Also how can I make them look more chaos-y?

You can deface any imperial icons, add skulls and cc weapons and paint them up in clashy colours with lots of chaos rings. Catachans are already pretty freakishly proportioned. Lasguns will do fine as they are for cultists, but there are a few ways of makibg them look more like slug throwers (check the tutorials board here) or go and pick up some 3rd party weapons. You can also spread them through squads primarily mae up of the cultist models to lose the uniformity that usually goes with imperial troops.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The whfb chaos marauder set would make good cultists once 40kd up. At £20 for 18 minis it's cheaper too. Just add guns instead of swords and you're golden

Paint as normal, but instead of painting their skin normal tones, use a very light gray color then wash with either purple or green.

Those also work well for cultists. You just have to get weapons for them.

And if you just want bulk there are these as well.

But as far as i've heard they have only a few different poses and are hard to convert. But if you just want tons of bodies i think there is no cheaper way than those.

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440091a&prodId=prod20048 those guys with FW autogun arms would make a good angry rabble of cultists, perhaps not overly chaosy but disorganised, angry and alot of them.
