Hey,

What are your 3 top games you've played?
Heres my choices:
3rd place goes to: Minecraft (Love it, creating loads of cool buildings and traps and all of that is exactly what I like doing)
2nd place goes to:Need for speed:Most wanted (one of the first games I had and it was magical on the original xbox, the best feeling completing that game)
1st place goes to: COD Black ops 2 - I like Zombies, enough said

What's your choices?

1)MGS3 Snake Eater
2) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3) SSX Tricky

1) Love the story of this game so much. I've played it to death, getting Big Boss on Extreme difficulty.
2) Fantastic RPG which completely ate my time. Loved every minute of it though.
3) Very fond memories of playing multiplayer with my sister on this game.

1) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The first time I played it my dad had to do all the boss fights because I was gak at them (especially Barinade), but the game itself was awesome! When I finally managed to start beating the bosses on my own it was a really great feeling.

2) I have no idea; LoZ: OoT is the only game which I can say is my absolute favourite. I have far too many others that I enjoy less than OoT, but not significantly more than each other - at least, not enough more to say "this is definitely my 2nd/3rd/4th favourite game".

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

3.) Mount and Blade Warband. Super fun gameplay that actually encourages tactics.
2.) Total War: Shogun II: It's from my favourite series. Not in first because the factions feel too similar.
1.) Rome: Total War: Super fun. Lot's of variety in the factions. Best gameplay I've found in a strategy game. Lokking forward to September 3rd!

1) Planetside 2 - the battles when two side's zergs meet, going into a 200+ on each side with four of my buddies, just awesome.
2) Mount and Blade: Warband, specifically the CRPG mod - leveling my guy up and my first battle in full plate, just hacking peasants down.
3)Fallout - this is the game that ruined eastern style, linear rpgs for me. It opened up worlds of awesome possibilities. Kid steals some of your caps? You can shoot him down in the street. Then you can't finish the game, because you killed an important NPC when the whole town banded together to take you out. But it gave you the choice, anyways.

Sonic The Hedgehog - Megadrive version.
FFVII - PS1 version, which had the proper soundtrack.
Resident Evil - first one, because I like the mansion setting.

They're a bit dated by today's standards, but have fond memories of playing those games and would happily play through all of them again. It was tough choosing three.

Dang, this is a tough one. For sheer addictiveness, I'd say

Escape Velocity
Sid Meier's "Pirates!" (or "Pirates!" Gold)
Master of Orion 2

with Star Control 2 coming in a close 4th.

But favorites, I can't decide. It would be a lot easier if I could provide Top 3 lists by era or genre instead of overall.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

1. Half-Life 2 - One of the best games I've played and one of the best games of all time. If only Valve would make another one!

2. Half-Life - Was my fav until Half-Life 2 came around. I had never played an FPS like this (in fact, no one had) back in '98. A lengthy campaign with a captivating immersive world where you only know as much as the character you're playing, which draws you in.

3. Mechommander Gold - As a huge BTech fan and a fan of the Mechwarrior games I was impressed with this RTT more than I thought I would. Exceptionally difficult and quite detailed, it was a very good game. What tips it over the edge were the pilots, and especially their voices and little videos that would play. That drew you in further, and made you really care about losses and injuries and whatnot. Usually I’d reload if I lost a pilot, starting the mission from scratch, but for the last one I always took a “what happens happens” approach, accepting any loss along the way as part of the story. And I specifically say the Gold edition of the game not just because it had the expansion but also because of the significant improvements it made to the game (adding waypoints and the “energy only” command so you didn’t waste ammo on vehicles and other minor targets).

I could've put Max Payne 1/2 or Arkham City into the third spot, but MechCommander gets that spot.

1 - Halo Reach - IMO best game of the series as the campain was alot of fun and im still enjoying the multiplayer to this day

2 - Battlefield 3 - for its realism eg. destructable environment etc. and the multiplayer is excellent

3 - Mass Effect 3 - all round great game, and a good end of the series (with the DLC endings ofc ) but this is barely above the new Tomb Raider game on my list.

1. Metroid Prime; easily one of the best shooters of the 2000s, still holds up by today's standards and is just extremely well designed and paced (although finding the artifacts really blows). This game is way ahead of its time in everything except graphics, and it's got the right balance between linear and open-world to give you things to do without feeling too open.

2. Mass Effect 2; first game I played through once I got my computer upgraded, with headphones this game is an incredible experience. It's better than ME1 and ME3 by a longshot and it's probably the most 'atmospheric' of the series.

3. LoZ: Twilight Princess; Wind Waker was good but finding the Triforce completely stops the game dead, TP is where it's at. Easily one of the longest games I've ever played, really cool dark atmosphere and a lot more well-paced than the other Zelda games (OOT feels really slow up until you get the Master Sword, honestly). I'll always remember this game for how huge/epic everything looks, Arbiter's Grounds was awe-inspiring and the last dungeon at Hyrule Castle was perfectly done with how quiet it was.

Kabal of the Void Dominator - now with more purple!

Pff.. only 3 huh...

1. Unreal Tournament 2004
2. Armored Core: Project Phantasma
3. Fallout 1-2

I honestly can't say that's the actual top 3.. it's most based on how much I played them.

1.) Red Dead Redemption - While it had really good, open world gameplay, the story was the icing on the cake for me.

2.) Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - It was a hard choice between this, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker...but I went with this due to the amout of times I've played through it, and the number of influences that were spawned from this game specifically.

3.) Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs. Zeon - I've always loved the TV series, and this a huge guilty pleasure with tons of nostalgia. Great campaign mode with plenty of replay value. The combat was good, but could be insanely frustrating. One mistep or poorly timed dodge would really screw you over if you were not careful.

Honorable mentions: Metroid Prime, Metal Gear Solid 3, Super Metroid, and Ace Combat 4/5, Skyrim, Tomb Raider ('12 reboot), Transformers: War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron

A well-earned high five to you, though! That's ALMOST forgiveable.

My personal 3:
1) Deus Ex (the series as a whole, though HR is I *think* my favourite as of right now)
2) City of Heroes (a damn shame it's been closed down)
3) Arkham City

#1: Baldur's Gate 2
After that the, the second and third spots are ever changing, depending on my mood and whatever games come to mind with my over 30 years of gaming memories. I'll list a few of the many possibilites: Ultima VII, Planescape: Torment, Civilization, Minecraft, XCOM (both old and new), Fallout, Deus Ex, and so on. I can never really pick just a top 3.

This is going to be very hard...

1. EVE Online. It has to be. No other game I have ever experienced even comes close to what EVE is. Sadly I don't have enough time for this game anymore, but every couple months I still get the itch to pay for a month and jump back in.

2. Metroid prime series. Incredibly fun. I could mention a few other shooter type games here instead, but this really takes it for best shooting type game I've ever played (sorry Borderlands/UT 2004/other less known old shooters)

3. Mechwarrior 3. This game was my childhood. I grew up playing starcraft, this game, age of empires, and a bunch of old Star Trek games nobody has ever heard of. I beat Mechwariror before I was able to read, seriously. I think I might have taught myself how to read by learning what the "ER Large Laser" was.

1) Brain Lord for the SNES. It was one of the first games that I ever played so it holds a strong place in my heart, and the fact that it is a solid game with decent puzzles that can be a bit of a brain rattler at times. Also the 2nd city you go to is the city of Toronto

2)Megaman X6. Huge fan of all the Megaman games but by far I love the intensity and fast pace action of X6 the most. And the theme for Blaze Heatnix is by far one of my all time favourite old school gaming songs.

#3 is a tie for me

3a)The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. BY far the best old Zelda game I ever played, such a difficult game at times and very rewarding once you figure out a bunch of the little secretes/ quirks of the game (the blood shrine that makes you use half mana comes to mind)

3b)The Lost Vikings 2. Fun, addicting puzzle game with melee combat and a slew of jokes and jabs at the culture of its time "Scorch the Magic Dragon" and no game lets you fly through the air like a majestic Olaf quite like this game. And the main bad guys name is "Tomator"

edit: spelling (as usual)

1. Metal Gear Solid... This title on the PS1 really set me down the long path of all things MGS, absolutely love this series (minus most of the Raiden stuff)

2. Guild Wars. I have very fond memories, played the game basically from launch, but due to deployments missed out on the expansion after the first one... Ultimately led me to start playing Guild Wars 2, as I have still yet to find an MMO that captured my attention the way GW1 did, until I started with GW2.

3. Skyrim. Yeah, I loved playing oblivion, but after a while, I'd end up creating a new character, enter every cheat code known to man, and run around slaughtering everything in sight (I did this while naming them stupid things like Thor, Freya and other deities, to go with their god-like powers), Skyrim, I've made several characters, each following a different style, and I've yet to really cheat the game with any of them.

1. River City Ransom - a classic beat 'em up game with quirky translations. BARF!

2. Sleeping Dogs - I normally don't play GTA style games but my friend recommended this as we are both Canadian-born Chinese. Why is that important? The dialogue in the game. All of the cursing and swearing in Cantonese and the posturing of the various characters reminded me of high school. Not only was it a great game but I was able to get more out of it due to the setting and all that.

3. X-Com (the original one) - playing this with a friend and renaming all of the soldiers after people we knew is one great memory I have
