I heard that they were allowing people to hold miniatures and had even dropped a few. There were also reports of judges picking up multiple models at once.
I know when I was walking through the line I was taking some pictures and the judge picked up a model they were about to photo graph and held it over the barrier. I don't know if it was because he was being nice and letting me photograph it or he wanted me to hold it, but I didn't touch it.

Thanks for posting this. That diorama is nuts.
How do you feel this GD compared to the North American one a few weeks ago? You commented in you review of the NA that you felt it was far superior to most the GD ones you attended in Europe.
Glad to hear this Slayer Sword didn't have any real issues.
That there was Jervis giving a discussion on the FAQs is real interesting. Would have like to see some of the points talked about there.
Also the diorama class was also intriguing. With the Games Day events rotating around the Golden Demons these days, seeing it possibly morph into a painter gathering and classes like Reaper-con might be nice.

Guess this fits best here:
Tyrendian over at BOLS wrote:-Jervis "accidentally" confirmed Damnos as the next Warzones book, and after that it deviated rapidly from the original topic of Apocalypse to general 40k...
-They commented in some detail on what they were and weren't planning to do in the future, like having around half a dozen other Warzones in the pipeline
-They hinted that they might continue to sometimes put rules into the boxes, which opens the possibility of a designer doing something he just wants to do out of the regular release schedule (as an example they mentioned new Aspects, but that might have been prompted by my question to that effect...)
-No clear answer on possible second wave releases/updates for existing models
-One guy actually asked why there were so very few female characters in 40k, to general good-natured amusement - they said it was mainly because they have almost no women in their team, so they kind of fear that anything they might do could be involuntarily sexist, or something along those lines.
-Sisters of Battle are definitely in the works, but still some way off, according to Jervis.
-They do not plan to put out supplements for non-6th Ed Codices, purely for compatibility reasons - first they will update the 'dex, then there will be supplements (an approach most people in the room aggreed with).
Three PC games were being demoed:
- Blood Bowl 2
- Space Hulk
- Talisman
All in all, it was definitely a fun day, but definitely not worth the cash they asked for it - unless they change something I most certainly won't be back next year!

It's a Nid Diorama not a BA one. Just kidding. Try this link. http://thetyranidhive.proboards.com/thread/43926/golden-daemon-winner-germany-gd
Pics are not the greatest, but it's an awsome diorama to see. Now that is a Nid swarm.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I'd gladly vote for an entry like that over some single mini with more perhaps more technical painting brilliance but a fraction of the soul and overall composition. The creator of that one truly gets the 40k universe.

I'm always happy to see the Massive Voodoo school get some recognition. It's primarily a matter of taste, but to me, they are the 'Frazetta' to the dominant highly technical style's 'Vallejo' (the painter, not the acrylics company) - less clean and sharp, more painterly and splotchy (in a good way), but IMHO these kind of pieces are usually far superior as far as composition and atmosphere are concerned.
