Hello!
I'm currently working on a wraithknight in Iyanden colour scheme. It's not my model, I didn't assemble it, but I'm trying to make it look as good as I can. To that end I worked on mold lines and altered the stance as a bit to what you see in the picture. I also added the casualties and rocks to the base. The model was primed in black, I patched the model up, covered the gaps in the primer with more black primer and then covered it in light grey paint before going in with Citadel Yriel Yellow, diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner. The Yellow came out nicely (I think) but due to the fully glued up state I had a lot of trouble getting the other base coat colours everywhere they needed to go.
I'm now considering what (besides gems and decals) the model still needs to look good.
Things I'm considering are
- cassandra yellow ink for the hollows
- white or flash glitz edge highlight on yellow
- alitoc or hoeth edge / regular highlight on blues
My concern is that I don't want to mess up the nice natural shadows cast by the room's light on the yellow paint with unnatural highlights.
On the other hand some more visual separation between all those yellow bits would be nice.
My wraithguards are prepared just as far as the knight is, I'm planning to do my testing on them before hitting the knight as my first ever yellow model. ;-]
I'd be grateful for any advice! Thank you.
