If you mix GS it happens all the time that you have some left after your work is done. It is most of the time to much cured to work on another details so the use is limited. I have a pressmould for skulls just for those leftovers. Just a quick press and another half-skull done. Those skulls are ideal as chaos base decoratins. But now i have so many that i don't need more and need other ideas.

What other interesting stuff do you guys do with GS leftovers?

I wish I'd thought of that idea. I always over-estimate how much I'll need. I usually just end up sculpting something extra on to the model I'm working on (purity seal, victory sash etc.) or fill the gap on something I've already assembled and have been meaning to fill.

The last few times it has happened though, I've used my GS remains to create the base for a Vostroyan hat in a future conversion.

My leftovers usually end up smushed into the bottom of a base of a 'wobbly' model, or if I have to use GS (admittedly, I use it almost exclusively for gap filling) I wait until I have 2 or more projects at the same stage, then do them all in one go to minimise wastage.

However, a friend of mine has an interesting use, on his desk he has an armature, and any leftover GS goes onto the armature as a 'slow-burn' sculpting project that builds up over time until he has a finished mini.

I don't have a picture since I never painted one, but I usually roll the extra into a little ball and form it up on the top of one of my eye-dropper paint bottles. I then proceed to drag out a mouth and eyes turning it into what resembles a slime from classic RPG video games. I had half a dozen of them stockpiled but I can't find them anymore.

Your mold is a good idea, is there anything else you could use other than sculls? Make a mold of a guitar string so you can press out something more flexible? A screaming face to put onto armor?

Depends on the amount I have left over. If it's a small amount, i'll use it to fill gaps on other models. Otherwise I make hoses. I have a tentacle maker, which makes hoses super easy to make.

I use it to make cannon balls, or sand bags for bases,

If you want chaotic/niddy bases or terrain, tentacles are super easy to make from GS leftovers.

Bags, bricks, straps, purity seals, muzzle flashes, scars, mutations, gap filling, bricks, rivets...

If I cant think of anything like that I'll see which press molds I have laying around for skulls, gauges, ammo belts, grenades, magazines, scopes, cyber bitz.

Theres no such thing as left over sculpting putty.

Only putty thats currently smarter than you

I have small magnets on the bases of all my minis (yes, I know...thats silly) as my display board is sheet metal (under the paint) and this helps keep them on while moving them around at events.

So, anytime I have left over putty, I slap some on the bottom of a base, and stick a magnet on it. Either that or a I have a couple of "needs putty" stuff in my project desk near my work area, and slap it on those.

thanks for sharing everyone, I got a few new cool ideas from this...
