From what I can see on the sprue, I have one heavy bolter I can stick with the marine but I don't see an under slung heavy bolter like the assault cannon, are there any under slung heavy bolters available or am I going to have to model it myself?

Either Cut Down the Autrocannon or start with another Heavy Bolter (plastic) and work it in with your own Mount made of plasticard and plastirod..or Use a heavy bolter sponson and modify it (from most any imperial tank kit)

Personally I would use a modfied sponson and the Autocannon and magentize them for ease of swapping..

Yup, you have to model it yourself.
Only Heavy flamer or assault cannon have "underslung" mounts and fittings - the rest you have to do yourself.

Are there _any_ models with under-slung heavy bolters? Not that it matters much - the mounting will be mostly hidden under the LS hull. 'Borrowing' the assault cannon mounting would certainly seem the easiest option.

Hmm, one HB on top and one underneath is arguably a bit illogical design-wise - you could try building some sort of twin HB under-slung mounting to also replace the standard HB, and give the gunner some sort of control thingy to imply he's controlling both underslung HBs.

Find a bits store and buy the Ravenwing Master's Twin linked heavy bolter?

The Vulture has an underslung nose mounted HB, but it might be a bit hard to find individually

I've used the Old Crow mini turrets as convincing HB turrets. The website is still futzy, but if you e-mail you should be able to get them.

This. It's the ideal size for a speeder and would look quite good as an underslung HB in my opinion, maybe get some kind of targetting array strapped to it too.

A LS with two HBs doesn't count them as twin-linked though, right? Not a problem unless you're up against a WYSIWYG rules lawyer, but I've met a few like that...

Totally agree that using a TL HB mount is the easiest modelling solution though. Hmm, could a HB Razorback mounting be trimmed to fit somehow?

No, a LS with two HB does not count them as twin-linked.

Well, not currently.

They might do it in a future edition (lord knows GW have done stupider things).
