Just putting together a BFG list and I am having some trouble ID'ing some of the ships, specifically the Escorts. See photos below:





I believe the group of 4 on the left are Infidel class escorts but I don't know what the other group of 4 are or the group of 3. Seeing as the Chaos fleet list only has 3 types of escort, they can only be Idolators or Iconoclasts. Problem is, they don't look anything like any of the pictures I have found online or any of the illustrations in the rulebook...

Anyone know what they are?


Edit: I am assuming they are all Infidel class but with different weaponry? The prows all look the same, just the various weapon configurations seem to differ. Oh and the little spikey, sticky-out side bits are different too.

It's pretty hard to see on those pictures, but...

On the first picture I think it's mainly Infidels - it's the only Chaos escort with a "shark tooth" pattern on the prow. However, the black one in the lower right corner seems to be an Idolator going by what looks to be a prow lance.

In the second picture I think it is, once again Infidels - although of a different pattern with a mesh in stead of "shark tooths". The black one in the bottom might by an Idolator - looks like the could be a lance mounted on the front.

In any case, I don't think any of them are Iconeclasts - those have a very distinctive beak-like prow.

Iconoclasts are also clearly smaller than two other escort types.

They do all look like Infidel class raiders. I took a look at mine, and all the Infidel have the 'ship prow' front, but not all of them are shark tooth. They do all have three little torpedo tubes molded on the bow. My idolators are about the same size, but they have a separate turret mounted on the bow and lack the 'ship prow' look. Hope that helps.

I have some of these in my display cabinet, but can't remember what they are!

I don't have it to hand, but do you have the main BFG rulebook? Think there are profile shots of each ship in there IIRC.
