Space Wolf and Blood Angels Rumors - Oct 2013.
The Blood Angels are soon to receive a digital version of their 5th edition codex, and a Space Wolves are rumored to be a full 6th edition codex release here in 2014. So this rumor specificially talks about a dual model release of both Blood Angels and Space Wolves.

There has been no Finecast releases for quite some time, so if this is going to happen, it would mean the rumors of Finecast being phased out were incorrect. However with a digital release, its quite possible that we could see a limited release of characters and updates. Not to mention that they could be tied to another unknown release.

that Blood Angels and Space Wolves will have the following new models in 2014 and may be released together.

Mephiston finecast
Dante finecast
Sanguinary Priest plastic clampack
Blood Angels Assault Squad plastic kit

SW:
Logan Grimnar finecast
Ragnar Blackmane finecast
Wolf Guard plastic clampack
Space Wolves Relic Battletank plastic kit

Just for clarity, we are talking new sculpts of the Finecast characters?

Well, I just checked Dante, and he has already been converted, so it would be bizarre indeed for this to be a rumour about a new release of something already in sale.

That said, this is GW, I take nothing for granted.

"Relic Battletank" smells a bit fishy. Unless I'm being an idiot, and that's already in the book. If they're really resculpts, I'll be all over the BA ones.

I read not so much as Relic battle tank as relic battle tank, so something they've "discovered" not something necessarily called "Relic." So they can pull a Storm Raven and retcon it back into fluff.

Oh, I get it, I was confused by your wording. Closest thing we have had to that is when (in 3rd edition) we could take Leman Russ Battle Tanks in SW lists.

So the rumor is that Space Wolves are getting their new, 6th edition book with resculpts of Logan Grimnar and Ragnar Blackmane. In addition to that they are getting this "plastic Relic tank" and a Wolf Guard plastic clampack.

Remember that right now we're seeing the Horus Heresy from Forge World and the expansion of the Astartes armory through that.
We've already had the Storm Eagle and Fire Raptors, both of which use the Stormraven as the base model.

Who's to say that this "relic battle tank" is not going to be the base model for something further down the road?

Generally when you see a product code/listing it is going to be capitalized like a proper name("Relic Battle Tank" v. "relic battle tank"). There's not really a requirement of "changing the rumor", just having some knowledge of the subject matter.

Relic Battle Tank could always be a very blinged up version of the Leman Russ Exterminator, they had it before, so why not again?

I don't think it would be a Leman Russ just because there has been such a hefty push to remove units simply pasted from one Codex into another--with the exception being the Rhino and Land Raider chassis of course.

I would be not surprised to see a Heresy chassis get into the Wolves book though.

I could see a LR tank in the SW codex, easily. It IS named after their Primarch, after all. It's daft that it wasn't in the fifth edition codex. That's something I've never understood, actually.

No models have been released with any of the digital editions unless they were part of a larger release with a physical codex and so on. I think this is bogus.

I was referring to the addition of the space as much as the capitalization. But you're right, clearly I know nothing about the subject matter

Relic battle tank = Leman russ Battle tank

hmm june/july rumored digital supp for 13th co? so this would mean wolves/blood angels in march-april.

I'd hardly call the leman russ battle tank a "relic".. It's the most commonly produced IG tank in the Imperium and it's also not even a space marine vehicle.

Just because it's called a leman russ tank doesn't mean the SW need to have it especially if it makes no sense for Astartes.

Might be a SM version of a battle tank tho.

Not sure I understand Dante and Mephiston in finecast.. I already have them in finecast, will they come with their own dust jackets and be sold as the limited edition versions??

I don't think a LR Exterminator would fit well in the current codex, it is too close to a Predator in firepower and role. I'd like to see something a bit more unique, like the Sicaran battle tank (in plastic) or Spartan.

Of course, the current SW rules badly need Flyer/Anti-flyer, so it will probably be oriented around that.

Presumably they'd be resculpts like Asmodai?

Not sure how to feel about this; on the one hand Dante and Mephiston need new sculpts, on the other Finecast... (and possibly on another hand you have to consider that Belial, the new Asmodai and the recent Apocalypse captains weren't particularly good).

Plastic Sanguinary Priest might've been exciting before I made two with Jump packs myself and bought the Forgeworld Apothecary pack for ones on foot.

Would be interested to see what a BA assault squad box would offer that the Death Company box wouldn't. Jump pack torsos with blood drops on the clasp instead of a skull, General BA decorations minus Xs, cross bones, unnecessary scroll work etc. A greater variety of running leg poses are always appreciated. there is some scope for this being a worthwhile kit.

The new Dante mini will come with Eternal Warrior card in the clam pack.

I mean random SoB can get it now, so why not.

I'm not so sure about a blood angels specific assault squad. just doesn't sound like it will be a thing. But maybe a complete re-do of ASM?

Eh, sounds like a very weak rumor at best. Even Natfka rated this rumor as "it's not going to happen...but if it did that's fine." Meaning there's no faith in it.

Perhaps this rumored BA assault squad is actually a new jump infantry unit?

As far as a SW relic tank, perhaps someone can find something from the older rule books or epic that might give us a clue, since GW is in the habit of bringing back old stuff.

The BA Assault Squad is just gonna be the Death Company boxed repackaged and showing them red, I guarantee it.

Well, we still have the Dark Angels Company Veteran box so a Blood Angels Assault Squad box is not out of the question.

There hasn't been a unique to Space Wolves tank since they first became a stand alone faction in 2nd. They have had the option of LRMBT as has been mentioned, but nothing unique to them.
