Any way to avoid the image picking software picking something NSFW? I avoid anything like that when I am checking Dakka in my breaks in work but I cannot if it is on the front page!

Apologies for that, I've cleared it out. There is no facility to automatically lock it out yet, but please do send a PM if any pops up (about once every 7 months is the average) and I'll remove it immediately.

I wonder if we can filter the front page to not pull images marked with NSFW. I mean I'm sure it'd be possible, but then we'd have to get the people uploading the NSFW models to actually tag their workd

I doubt adding code to remove images tagged NSFW from the front page spotlight would work well because as of this writing, this photo had no tags at all, I've added some.

I suppose it could be coded to first check if there were any tags at all, and then filter out tags that include NSFW; but that would also remove so many awesome pictures with no tags it would break the whole damn thing, and if it happens so infrequently, eh.

Maybe have a compulsory checkbox whilst submitting the image, something like "Is this image NSFW (Not Safe For Work)? Yes [] No []" where selecting 'yes' would filter it out of the front page?

Obviously there's nothing stopping anyone hitting 'no' instead, unless after a certain amount of 'no's which should have been 'yes' they're blocked from uploading to the gallery at all, however that'd require them to be found out. So whilst it'd provide little defence against people who can't be arsed selecting the right option (which, to be honest, is always going to be a pain), it should lessen the amount of tags left out through human error (by requiring a selection to be made instead of simply defaulting - and therefore making it forgettable - or being completely optional) and should also provide a means of filtering thanks to what I hope would be the vast majority of people selecting 'Yes' for any NSFW images.

Depends. College or previous schooling? I could see the latter being a problem. The former...probably not a big deal.

That particular image was not too bad - more artistic than the one which inspired this thread. As always, send a PM and I'll take it down quickly if needed. There is no automated solution that would work as people dont provide metadata for a significant percentage of things uploaded to Dakka, so alerting me or yakface is the only way to take care of it. On the whole it is a rare problem, but if it the difference between dakka and no-dakka at your place of work, bookmark the forums as your entry point into the site just to be safe.
