Wow, would you look at the cobwebs in here... :cough:

HELLO! :echo: Hello..hello...hello

After some incredibly trying times that have very recently started to clear I am going to attempt to return to my long forgotten hobby. If anyone is still there... Thanks for sticking by and who knows, maybe I'll even make that page 30 deadline

Page 30? It's been awhile, but I think it was 20...

Anyways good to see you back, was hoping you hadn't fully given up on the hobby.

I've been a little sad lately. It's been a year since two incredibly important people passed away and to be completely honest, it still feels like a fresh wound. I am putting a serious effort into trying to keep myself level if for no other reason than I would prefer that my kids don't suffer for my pain. I think the shift in focus will help a bit. I'm still not excited for the upcoming holidays but who knows, maybe santa will bring me some closure. I do think that the Shield's are going to stay on the back burner for a little while I make a small 5 man unit of blood angels basic marines just because it was my buddies fav army when he got me into this hobby years ago. It's strange, I don't want to think about it but I refuse to forget. 25% masochisim 75% love.

A memorial project might be good, maybe punching the thoughts of him in the face rather than pushing them in the back of your mind might be a prudent move. Looking forward to seeing anything painted really!

Hey man, I'm still here. I suppose I can relate to you in someway.. real life just keeps on kicking me down these days.. hell, I barely remember what it was like to not have constant stress and pressure all day every day. Best of luck to you man. May your buddies rest in peace.

Yeah, a memorial might be nice.. something bright and positive (at least, as much as that is possible in 40k!). Something.. triumphant.. representative of something your buddy did before the end, that you can remember him for.

I was thinking of a squad leader looking a bit weathered and damaged holding the helmet of a fallen brother. Are there any SM heads where the eyes are closed? I wanted him to look solemn, caught in a moment of rememberance.

Shouldn't be too hard to paint it in that way.. reckon I've seen it done before.. maybe just try having him looking downwards at something, perhaps even kneeling on some sort of raised scenic base, with heavy shadowing painted onto his face instead?

Can't think of any, but as Void said, would be easy to paint it that way. Or just the downward look.
