Subject: Your most "movie refferenced" moment in 40k?
*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!
Here's a discussion, but what do you think is your most "Movie referenced" moment in 40k? and I mean like a moment on the table that happened, but it just popped up to like a moment in a movie you had seen?
I will start with mine which happened today. I played a custom mission and during it I charged my Deff Dredd into a Kabalite warrior blob to chase it off an objective and the champion with the blast pistol fired Overwatch into the Dredd
Rolled a 6 to hit..
Rolled a 5 to pen it..
Rolled another 5 on the pen chart and since it was AP 2, the result added +1 to it making the roll a 6, exploding my Dredd..
At that moment we both laughed and it immediately reminded me of the movie scene of Saving Private Ryan, where the corporal is shooting at the tank with his pistol, wounded and that tank explodes.
So what moments have you had in 40k where it reminded you of a moment in a movie you watched?
Cheers to all comments

Oh man... I had a lot of those moments in 5th edition. In my Imperial Guard army, my company commander was known infamously as Bullet Tooth Tony (a character from the Guy Ritchie movie Snatch). I played a lot against Tyranids back then, and this one lowly company commander knew how to roll the hard 6 when it came time to wounding Tyranid MCs with his LAS PISTOL. My opponent almost always failed the armour save on it too. On certain occasions, this would also be the last wound to go to fell the beast. Not exactly a scene out of a movie, but I think it counts

I've deliberately recreated situations out of Blackhawk Down and Starship Troopers for a laugh with a friend. Does that count? We even introduced a rule that for every line of Gaunts that died in front of the outpost walls, the following gaunts would be 1"closer to the top
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Holding a defensive position against Nids with my heavily entrenched IG (wall trench system and all)
Someone came up and simply said "Starship troopers". We all were thinking it, he just said it lol.

yeah, but with a huge bunker network it really fit. the terrain was even desert. so it fit, except for the weird colored Tyranids which of course didn't match the Black, yellow etc of the Bugs.

I once had harker fighting off a horde of guardians. He survived a fair amount of fire power for a few turns. He had infiltrated way up front and was just being used as a road block.
Anyways on the eldars 2nd turn he managed to kill them all except for one guardsmen who broke and ran. He continued to run out from the jungle. The guardians having nothing else to shoot decided to pour all their rounds into the fleeing guy and i could think was that scene in platoon where that guy runs out into the clearing being gunned down.
Although the first shot killed the poor guy he did have 21 shurikens fly into his back.
There was another game where my friends let me mount my guardsmen on horses. This one chaos marine killed 2 leman russes and a hell hound with his power fist, then took on 10 horse mounted guardsmen, routed and killed them and moved on towards my last few horsemen (who where mostly slaughtered by his other units). All i could think was rambo (despite never seeing the movies).
He even carried a banner (the model did) with him.
I just couldnt kill the guy, funnily enough i stepped on him by accident a few hours later.

Had a moment when my Crusader squad was moving onto the objective, and then took some fire from a Deathwing unit, losing one guy. Because of old Righteous Zeal I had to take a Ld check which I failed. They ran off the board, those nine Initiates. Reminded me a lot of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, when they run away from the French castle

After a unit of Sentinels proved itself less than competent at shooting the oncoming horde of bugs, I sent it to go bog down the Trygon that had popped up right next to me, One of them promptly exploded and took a chunk off of the bug's face.
"Well done, Lieutenant Gorman." I muttered...
Apart from that, there's always the odd shooting phase that reminds me of any time Stormtroopers are called upon in Star Wars. Poor guys.

There was once an epic moment between my orks and my friend's guardsmen.
It came down to my dreadnought and his lone commander with melta bombs and a plasma pistol.
Using the pistol he blew of the dread's leg, then charged in with melta bombs. The fight lasted ages, with the bombs blowing off many limbs before the valient commander was finally killed when he failed his invulnerable save and was insta-ganked. It was epic.
The same commander also won a fist fight with Draigo - power fisting him slowly to death and passing all his saves in return. It was hillarious

I know quite a few times when my IG would fire a real strong weapon, only to have the target shrug off the hit, we have said "Hammer Tech?" (Iron Man 2).

I'm teaching a friend to play. He's using my bugs, I'm using a squad of termies and a matching captain.
Were playing a custom game type where the tyranid player has to get at least two full units across a bridge. He has a carnifex and hive tyrant. Carnifex moves up and assaults the squad. The squad does two wounds. Than the captain does his " YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" and kills it. Cue swarm. Cue hive tyrant, challenges captain, I accept.
Turn one I do three wounds.
He does one, and I fail my roll.
Next turn, I miss.
He does another wound.
Captain kills it, but cause they strike at the same time, it kills him too. "TO DEATH WITH US, UGLY!"

That is pretty much a reenactment of the Moria sequence from Fellowship of the Ring. The squad being the fellowship, the Carnifex the Cave Troll, the swarm the Goblin Horde, Gandalf the Captain and the Balrog is the Tyrant.

I want to say there is this scene in the movie 'Iron Giant' where the robot accidentally fires off into the distance and you just see this destructive blast far far far in the distance and the astonished look on what might just be the kids face after/during it happening. That movie scene is in my head anytime the Big Mek with SAG fires double 6's that scatter and miss everything.
I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.

I had St. Celestine fighting some Necron Lord and they just kept going at it for something ridiculous like four turns and neither of them could kill the other. It was like some Dragon Ball Z fight.
Also, I had my Canoness go against a Tzeench sorcerer. She fired her inferno pistol and his invul save worked. So, I charged in and killed him with her power sword. (He was in terminator armor no less.) I rolled amazing and he rolled horribly.
He said, "that's a load of crap."
I said, "The slow blade penetrates the shield."
