yeah,

I went to Dark Sphere today to pick up some spray paint and found the store closed!!
The note on the window said they have moved location...
I followed the treasure map.

The new store location was a 5mins walk to Hercules street - Railway Arch 186.
I was excited!

They were very busy inside, but still made time to make sales huzzah!

I had a quick chat with the owner and the new store sounds pretty exciting.
Loads of tables dedicated to table games and card games with more big store events.

They are still open for trade while they sort it out!
But are planning a grand reopening evening very soon to show off the new store.

Winning!

Looks like a great location with lots of inventory. I quite like the stack of Battlefield in a Box terrain sets on the upper right hand shelving units.

Very cool looking space ! A touch narrow, but definitely workable if you plan the space smartly.

I mean, it's Dakka. I thought snide arguments from emotion were what we did here.

It's about 10 mins away from the old location, so still walkable in a lunch break! I look forward to seeing what they do with all the increased space.

There a huge amount more space, and they've been painting up loads of terrain.

Just as important, there's a fantastic, cheap noodle bar at the bottom of the street.

Fantastic idea - slightly further away, but still close enough for the Waterloo commuter crowd (and it's pretty well known now!)

Having just converted a railway arch, I'm a big fan. This looks like around three times as much space as what they had, and enough space for a few full size tables without getting in the way of the shopping!

I went to this new space (before they moved the store) for a doubles tournament mid december, and it was a decent amount of space. Somewhere around 10/12 gaming tables (8x4 size) with 3/4 more for card players at the front, and extra space at the back. There was plenty of space to move around easily too. The shelves on the right will only restrict that a little I think.

Great space.

One of the best gaming stores I have ever been to, absolute Alladin's cave there was just so much stuff squeezed into that shop before - think you could literally spend hours browsing! Looking forward to seeing what the new premises are like.

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

I used to spend a lot of time in Dark Sphere playing DnD. I ought to go see the new place.

I popped in there yesterday, and they were still unpacking, but give it a few days and it should all be sorted. It'll be great having a good number of tables and all the goodies of the shop in one place.

Almost made it there today when I had a little bit of spare time, but got too distracted by everyone in the graffiti tunnel. Quite an unusual experience for sure!

A move was a good idea, as they were definitely an excellent brand being held back by a lack of space.

Not sure on the location for long term viability though. The reason being, National Rail has started a ploy of offering under arch premises for a song, and then massively jacking up the rent after a year or two without warning. Especially on old unused arches.

Dark Sphere may find they have to move again in a few years.

yeah,
I got a email from Dark Sphere that they are now ready for gaming!

Dark Sphere Email wrote:Come and celebrate the opening of our new store, as we host a series of events and tournaments over the next four weeks. We've also uncovered various limited products, including deleted Magic boosters and Games Workshop metal models. These will only be available in store whilst stocks last.

If you've not dropped in yet, we're not far away from the old store. The easiest way is to get the Bakerloo Line to Lambeth North and then wander down Hercules Road, but you can walk from Waterloo station in less than ten minutes (turn right out of the Jubilee Line exit, then take the first right onto Bayliss Road and follow the road).

Weekends of Magic, Warmachine, Attack Wing, HeroClix and Warhammer 40k.

Saturday 18 January
This Saturday we have Month 4 of the Dominion War for Star Trek Attack Wing, the Iron Man OP for HeroClix and a free Intro Tournament for anyone new to Magic.

Sunday 19 January
Join us for a Cardfight!! Vanguard Tag Tournament, whilst Magic players can win a booster box in our Standard tournament or play in the GPT Paris Legacy tournament.

Saturday 25 January
In association with Cross Gaming Club, we are hosting a 32 player Warmachine/Hordes tournament.

Sunday 26 January
Challenge the Dark Sphere staff to an enormous Warhammer 40k Apocalypse game in 'Come at me, Bro'.

I'll be in London in April for Salute and Dark Sphere will certainly be a guaranteed visit unless we're sick of the sight of little man dollies! (Highly unlikely!)

I've heard so many good things, got a few mates who've ordered online and rave about you so I'll look forward to dropping in soon

The new place is fantastic for 40k tournament. Much more space than the old one.
Staff is fantastic, prices are great, wednesday nights regulars are nice chaps. As a Londoner I don't see why I should go somewhere else

Yeah,
I went there today to meet ArbitorIan and picked up X-wing stuff plus the new 'Nid codex/cards.

They offered us a table to play but sadly we had to go!

But I hope that it is very soon that we will do a dark sphere batrep!

Next time I visit London I'll have to bring a small army along with my GF so we can play a quick Killteam game or something.

The first time I visited London I popped in and bought a few models and loved the place, the staff were excellent, and it was a shame I didn't get to play.

That will be rectified, oh yes. I will game on a different continent, lol
