So I bought Dawn of War from GotY to Soulstorm and played all the campaigns through and decided to try multiplayer, I wasn't sure it even still worked since THQ finally met their heretical end as a company, and figured they probably drug everyone and everything down with them, including any dedicated servers they hosted. I was (at the time) relieved to see that GameSpy hosted the servers instead of THQ (thank the Allfather...) so I went about getting my fill of the campaigns till I decided to try multiplayer today, to find every time I try to create and account to play, it says my password or user name is wrong, which makes no sense.

I've come to find out that GameSpy has also had some issues and may or may not still host things, I'm not too certain in the least and don't care to read into it, so I just want to know, does Dawn of War Soulstorm multiplayer even still work?

EDIT: (in a orky voice) An' if any of you grotz tells me ta "suck it up an play Dawn of War 2" I'll krump yeh REAL good, so keep yer gobs shut less yeh got sometin' gud ta say... I meanz it wen I sayz I'll krump yeh too...

Suck it up and play DoW 2.

I would imagine that the servers are no longer supported. you could probably still do a local game or some such.

I got spam to an address I gave to Gamespy last week.
Their site isn't really there any more.
So, I expect the servers have gone, hoping no-one noticed.

I have had this problem before...

do you have multiple e-mails? If so try another one you dont use often, create the username and password like you normally would, but write them down!! I have forgotten a password or two and there is no real way to recover an account...Im on to using my third e-mail address just to create a Dawn of War Soulstorm account lol...

Also did you buy the game new or was it from someone else? cuz they may have the codes registered already..

Hope any of that helps, its always nice to see some others still like to play the originals i for one am not a fan of DOW2 multiplayer...unless its last stand

Do steam not have any dedicated servers running? Thought they would have. Honestly i'm curious myself now, can't stand the DoW2 multiplayer/skirmish.

Not for DOW Dark Crusade/Soulstorm. They have the capapbilities now for some even older games such as age of empires so now you can play that online again, and thats going way back! So it may just be a matter of time before they pick up the original DOW series as well, one can hope! But for now I havent been having problems with the Gamespy server

Wouldn't hold my breath, DoW was never as popular as AoE., Not to mention they had to release AoE HD edition for it to be supported.
