I am looking to get hold of some spray paint similar in colour to GW Bleached Bone but I don't want to use the Army Painter Skeleton Bone spray as I have had various bad experiences with Army Painter sprays before including blocked nozzles, things like that. Does anyone know of a source here in the UK that does this sort of spray paint in this particular colour? I was thinking of some sort of car spray paint like the sort that Halfords do (I already use their primers which are excellent) but looking at the website earlier I couldn't find any sprays in that particular colour. Having said that, I don't find their website to be the easiest to navigate so I may be being obtuse. Suggestions welcome!

I have no idea whether they have the colours you are looking for but liquified sprays are available at Hobbycraft now, as are the humbrol and Tamiya sprays. I would count all of them as being good quality so worth a look at their respective brochures/sites.

There is also the Montana Gold/White ranges of paint; I've not used they but I seem to remember Panic telling me they were good. http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/products/Art-Supplies/Spray-Paint

The last way is the most labourous and that's to get a chart of RAL colours, find the shade you want then locate a range of paints. There's no guarantee of finding a standard colour to match that is made.

Or beached bone through an airbrush?

Halfords do 'Camouflage Khaki' Which isnt quite the same as Bleached Bone (Ushabti bone now).

It looks like this;

The Terminator pad in the photo is sprayed with Halfords Camouflage Khaki, while the pads near it are the citadel colours just behind them.

Here is the spray in question; only 300ml cans though :( There is 4 colours in similar cans; black, brown, green and kahki - intended to be used all together to make British Army camouflage.

Hope thats helpful; its not exactly the colour your asking for but its close-ish and quite available. I like it as a primer colour especially on my Orks (I know its not strictly primer hehe, but neither is the halfords matt black spray that is so popular and it does just fine)

Hmm, the Khaki colour is perhaps a little too green unfortunately but thanks for the comparison, it's food for thought.

I had forgotten all about Hobbycraft so I might pop down there and have a look.

Cheers all!

I dunno if its my monitor... but the green looking one is the citadel kreig khaki colour.

Left to right they go; kreig khaki, ushabti bone, halfords camouflage khaki, screaming skull.

I found it to sit nicely in the middle of ushabti bone and screaming skull Its very flat though (being 'ultra matt finish') and looks a bit neutral compared to the citadel layers.

No it's me! I was looking at the wrong one - either way, the Halfords one is a bit too grey and not bone-y enough. Basically, what I am doing is using the primer/spray colour as the basecoat and then washing straight over it to cut time down and speed paint some Tyranids so the primer/basecoat step needs to be the right colour. Looks like I am stuck with Army Painter for the time being then.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Homebase used to do an own brand spray paint called Rattan that was very similar to Bleached Bone.
