Outside of Forge World releases I can't remember being this excited about a kit in a long time. I know the kit has its detractors, but I think this thing is a must buy for any collector of 40K. When I picked up the kit I had the nostalgic thrill of being a child again picking a toy for Christmas. The frame is divided into three parts and assembly was straight forward (although I won't be glueing the rungs on the top carapace until after the airbrush stage).

Instead of airbrushing the majority of the miniature and calling it a day I wanted to concentrate on creating the history of this particular knight. You can do this with a cool bit of story that you can tell your friends before you play with the model, but you can also represent the characters back history visually. I wanted this to feel like an old Ford Fiesta (which I drive...piece of **** that it is) not a BMW I8. I wanted this to feel second hand, that it's walked thousands of miles on a hundred different worlds. I wanted you to feel like when the Knight breaks down or runs low of fuel the pilot leap out, swears at it and kick it into functionality.

What are you guys doing with your knights?

I run through the stages of painting on the blog and I have a load more pictures.

Ha Not quite my thoughts but pretty close.

I'm very impressed that people have managed to achieve such brilliant paintjobs with the model having only been released so recently.

The scratches on the armour and the heat effect on the melta are very well done. The base is also pretty spiffy and I really like what you've done with. Excellent stuff. I just wish I had the spare cash, I might well pick one of these up, oh well...

Imperial Knight Titan model is amazing, your painting is excellent, what's not to like?

Really liked the tarnished weapons.

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted.

The more I look at it, the more I like the bare face, reminds me of Mechwarrior a little bit, if the Inner Sphere had been dropped somewhere in Segmentum Obscuras.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Great paintjob OP. I'm always impressed at how fast you turn out quality paint work.

I can't stop staring at the Knight's feet though. I never paid much attention to them before as GW's promotional pictures don't really show the feet, but I feel GW's sculptor realy dropped the ball there. They look strangely weedy on a model that substantial - like they belong on a class of walker one size smaller... There's no hydraulic mechanisms which GW is so fond of, the ring on which the feet are attached is completely devoid of detail and the tiny toes with their even smaller toe joints are hilariously nonsensical. IMHO, the feet should be 1.5x the size they are now.

Unbelievably beautiful as per usual. I love that beaten up and repainted look of weathering you acheived. Never seen that effect before.

You have to remember that GW can no longer use materials they can't sell! So the base would be impossible to do unless they used a shed-load of greenstuff.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
