Ok not technically historical but I want some modern US army miniatures to use for my Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard army I want to do. Does anyone know where I can find some quality ones?

Once Mars Attacks is released by Mantic there will be plastic US Marines In 28MM Heroic scale available to order from their site.

What do you want by "modern"?
It could encompass anything from WW2/Korea to the ultra-modern Gulf War 2 of today.
Even Weird World War 2 might be included.

I'll second the Empress stuff, their US Army and (new) USMC figures are great although I wouldn't field them alongside any GW figures if you can help it since they are not exactly heroic scale
Alternatively the Eureka minis are also very good and they are a fraction taller. The deciding factor is presumably going to be which is easiest for you to get hold of. I'm sure Eureka must have a US distributor though,

^^ The scale difference will be an issue with any historical models compared to GW.
But maybe you can get a whole IG army of historical models with a bit of conversion work and not have to worry about mixing in any GW figures.

Thanks - the Empress Miniatures is what I am looking for, which is as close to to look of today's military as possible.
The goal, if I do this, is to use as few GW miniatures as possible and convert as needed, so scale shouldn't be an issue.
Edit: the Eureka Marine miniatures also look good, so I might get some of them too when I start this project.
Thanks!

If you want enough to do an IG army though this might get pretty expensive. Think Mantic have got some plastics modern US infantry on the way for their Mars Attacks game - they will probably be dirt cheap so good to bulk out some units, although not sure when they will be on general sale.

I second the Empress stuff - it's very good. Also, Black Scorpion miniatures do a modern range in 28mm too.

Don't know about 28mm, but Empress miniatures has 1/50 [35mm] soldiers and vehicles.
