Subject: Trying new Ork skin design, CC! New Converted Lootas. UPDATE on page 2
Not the best at conversions but this is my first attempt at some lootas that will soon be turned purple. For some reason the first picture of the ork with the mortar and stikk bombs makes it appear he has no right arm, but its there!
Spoiler:
Converted lootas
Because a scope on the shoulder makes him more accurate!
This looks cooler from a top and side view.
I hope the picture isnt too big. I wanted to try something different.i used the GW Demonette colors. What do you guys think? I wish i could get it too look a little less messy, but this was my first attempt.

Ohhhh!!! Thats why that green looks wrong, its purple!
Automatically Appended Next Post: This one went Demonette hide, warpfiend grey, slaanesh grey then violet wash, then slaanesh grey. But im tryinf out different methods. I think going demonette, then wash then the demonette again into the greys would be better.
Any advice on how to blend these better?

Yeah my backstory is they are from a Dark Eldar planet. They were controlled by the Dark eldar and lived in a swamp outside the city acting as guards. Eventually, like in the original Ork lore, they out lived their masters because they are freaking tough orks!!! Now they have their own Warbosses and start branching out looking to gather some Waaagghh and cause chaos!
Going to put dark, swamp like bases with water effects.
Good narrative dude, works for me, like the colour personally.
Any chance you can put some DE bits on em too? They're prone to loot after all
For the Lion and Terra!
Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.
With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.
Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Im hoping to grt my hands on some DE bitz!
Actually these two i painted straight on model, i primed the others i recently got, but i was too impatient and wanted to try the scheme out.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also its still freaking winter and i hate putting primmer on in the cold!

Its a little to bright and pale for my taste, If it was basecoated black that may look better IMHO. With that said, I like the concept, I like the story, and love how you went against the green and tried something new.

Painted two earlier today. Trying to get them the way I want them before doing some batch painting.
Do you guys think i could use a black wash on the skin to darkee rhem a little? Would it work if i went, Demonette skin, warpfie.s grey, slaanesh grey, black wash, then slaaneah grey?
I always press dat, if you know what I mean.

I think a brown wash maybe, or maybe do a black wash before the highlighting. I think a black wash over the finished result will look too messy and take away too much from the colour you've produced.

If you want to give it depth without being dirty try a fleshshade or sepia wash then the last highlights. It should darken give depth and pull all the other tones together. Mind you i bloody love the colours and back story.

Thanks for the input! Im not going for a pure purple look, more of a pale, kind of grey purple. That being said i just bought the new corison and ryza rust paints and im trying ti figure out how to use them. Those two were my first experiences with those paints and i hope to get better with them!
I always press dat, if you know what I mean.

Normally, I don't like non-standard orks. they're called greenskins for a reason.
I really like yours, though. I hope this is going to be an ongoing blog of you painting a whole army like this!
