Hey has anyone else had their order randomly canceled today. Both my girlfriend and I had our 2 separate orders cancelled today with no reason given

Did you make those orders before GW's new site came online?

Have you checked the card you used hasn't expired ?

With the new website going live it's just possible you were able to check out with an invalid card and once they tried to get payment it bounced

Runnin up on ya.

You could always call the customer service line and find out why. IMO better than asking random strangers on the internet.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Pretty much this. No-one here will know beyond wild speculation and supposition. Call or email and find out instead of second guessing.

It was probably an error as a lot of their orders are running through a website currently in flux. Some things may be out of stock and had to be cancelled even with the website showing the ability to order.

You could ask Stuart Broad for the same information.

Probably couldn't help you out of a paper bag with a map, compass, and Louis and Clark.

But it is better not to panic just yet.

It does happen.
I remember a while back ordering a Behemoth Crusher Brood.
It was a limited thing with 3 or maybe 5 carnifex in it.
They'd run out of stock and hadn't informed me in any way shape or form.
After 10 days waiting I gave them a call and spent the money on something else but I'm sure they would have refunded.

I had 2 gift lists yesterday, and now I have none.
The order I put in at the weekend is still there, though.

Looks like they're overhauling the site still, and the data is getting badly handled.

[Update: I was looking at the US 'site', and gift lists aren't carried over.]

GW has yet to figure out precisely how to do this whole "new fangled internet" thing. Fortunately according to my copy of White Dwarf dailytm, the whole internet thing is just a passing fad. This is great newstm

Also, the unsubscribe on the newsletters is difficult to do.
You can sign up with any email address, but you need to sign in to unsub. Sneaky, or against anti-spamming laws?

Huh? Do you even know what spam is? If you want to get the newsletter, you have to make a deliberate effort to sign up for it, and if you want to stop getting the newsletter...

Yeah, I used confusing terminology. I meant the unsubscription sections listed in laws brought in to fight spam:
http://www.lawdonut.co.uk says:
All direct marketing emails, whether to corporate subscribers or individuals, and whether unsolicited or solicited, must:

make the identity of the sender clear (the sender must not be ‘disguised or concealed’)
provide a valid address to which ‘unsubscribe’ messages may be sent."

You don't need to register to get the newsletter, just input an email address.
But, if people signed up for newsletters with just an email address, to get off the list they then need to register with their name.
