I'm on the fence with this one. In a casual game, no problem, I'd play against it. And I think it could definitely be used in a tournament, but it just isn't ready yet for that.

However, I will make a couple suggestions that will push it over the edge for me and make it easier for you at tournaments as well. When you start putting figures on the table, it will make a huge difference depending on the opponents first impression. You want him to think "Wow, this is pretty damned cool, whatever it is", and the mood is the key. You don't want him to think "What the hell is this? what's he trying to pull over on me?"

Definitely be very paranoid with making sure it's WYSIWYG. Make it as easy to understand for your opponent as you possibly can. Things don't look TOO bad in that respect right now, but really push to make it more obvious if you can. This is both because you want your opponent to stay in a good mood about the army, but also to speed up the games to make sure you aren't ending on turn 3 every time. Read Yakface's signature, and keep repeating it to yourself.

Also, the color scheme to me isn't very cohesive. The sculpts all have a theme that is enough to build on, but I'd go with more consistancy across the board for the figures. The genestealers are a great example, as you have 4 different colored figures in the same unit. I'd make all the figures skin's and fur the same color, through the whole army. Make it look like it's one clan/pack or whatever the appropriate term is, and not so random. And I'm also going to agree with some previous posters, use some sand and flocking on the bases to give them texture. It's very rare I see flat painted bases that look convincing, and those usually involve road/street areas.

The idea has merit, stick with the concept. You just need to sell your opponent with the execution. That broodlord from the other army is an excellent example, it's just too freakin cool to argue with it.

I hate making signatures:
Mainly because my sense of humor is as bad as my skill at this game.

I found the original tourney was invite only of winners from 2007’s tournaments. Theoretically the same store has a tourney at the end of January, on a weekend we have the kidlets (not good kids have a priority, hence why this was a real opportunity to play). If my boy is interested in kicking teenager butt (he's 12), and they allow the list we'll go.

In the interim I've been playing a portion of it in a league here prior to the Christmas break and its been well received. Evidently no one plays with genie heavy forces. The sight of 50+ bloodletter conversions seems to stop people in their tracks, and they help with the in-game contest I have going of which player can waste the most genestealers in a single turn-the record is 27 to date . Over the break I’m going to re-do the bases, try some dipping techniques, finish the spawn and start working on my blood bubbles. Mmmm..blood bubbles.

On the positive I’m really, really ahead of everyone else with the coming Demon Codex (how did he have an army when the codex came out yesterday? Its almost like he's been working on it ahead of time for a year...)
