Technically, Khorne and Slaanesh don't get along and Nurgle and Tzeentch don't get along. Doesn't really make sense (why wouldn't Khorne and Tzeentch not be arch rivals) but that's the way the fluff has been for the past like, 12 years.

I think it has something to do with Khorne finding the young Slaanesh to be foppish and not up to a proper fight and Tzeentch not liking Nurgle as decay leads to the opposite of constant change.

Actually it makes perfect sense. Khorne does not like Tzeentch's methods, but what Tzeentch stands for does not run contrary to Khorne's aims.

Slaanesh on the other hand, is the complete opposite of Khorne. Khorne is all about focus, power, prowess, pride, being the best above all others at one particular thing (killing, in this case). Slaanesh is about excess, doing everything at once in greater and greater amounts, constant, endless changing stimulation.

It's also the reason why Tzeentch and Nurgle are enemies. Tzeentch is all about change, progress, mutation, advancement. Nurgle is the opposite - stagnation, rot, death, etc.

So yes, Khorne and Tzeentch not being arch-rivals makes perfect sense. Their methods may vary, but they are not opposites as Khorne/Slaanesh and Nurgle/Tzeentch are.

Here I thought that Slaanesh was about achieving perfection in whatever you were doing...Using Skill as opposed to brute force, where as Khorne was the brute force method.

I think it's simpler than that.

Khorne wants only 1 thing and cares not where or how he gets it.

Slaanesh wants everything, and wants to experience it in every way imaginable.

Calling cheese is the siren call of the loser in my book.

I wanna make a chaos army with Kharne leading noisemarines, Typhus leading 1k sons, etc - just to throw it in their faces that their new codex allows for some seriously unfluffy stuff.

30+ termies, though, isn't unfluffy at all. And he won! Why is he complaining lol

I also loved that bit of description. Nurgle is the gregarious, paternal god of love [of disease and pestilence].

To be a bit more specific on the Khorne/Tzeentch dichotomy, Khorne depises *psykers*. Magic throwing and fighting from afar is what Khorne views unmanly, not Tzeentch specifically, although none of the gods can be considered buddies.

Ok, so wikipedia isn't the most reliable source... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_%28Warhammer%29#The_Chaos_Gods

"While these gods distrust each other and in-fighting is common, each is also diametrically opposed by one of the other gods. Khorne is an outward acting deity, seeking the death of others; he is opposed by Slaanesh, who acts inwardly, seeking a life of unrelenting pleasure. Nurgle represents forces of decay, destruction, stagnation and random disease while Tzeentch represents constant building, evolving and planned change."

The polar oppositions between Slannesh and Khorne, and Nurgle and Tzeentch have been around since the Realms of Chaos books, and are a pretty interesting aspect to the storyline. The Khorne - Slannesh - Tzeentch thing isn't very intuitive, but has been part of the fluff for a long time.

I'm sure that Khorne isn't too into Tzeentch due to the magic thing, but Khorne's major foe is indeed Slannesh.

*sigh* back atcha Captain.

Cheesy is for whiners.

Fluffy is for non-whiners.

Both are justifications for Bull.

32 Terminators, especially chaos termies...isn't scary.

You wound 6 times, one dies.

They aren't even Nurgle termies, to make it more difficult to wound with light weapons.

So torrent of fire will drag you down, and you aren't fearless so running away is quite possible.
