I've done up some good conversions for these, I'll post pics and walkthroughs tomorrow.

ah your right they do get the armour, i'm not 100% with the ork rules cost is 1110p then (+ a warboss to make them troop... rest of the army bikes ^_^ probably 20 bikes ... for 32 total and roughly 1500p point army)
good job vehicals can't cap or orks really would be unstopable

i played with a small seer council last night in a 6 man 3v3.

it was eldar, space marines and chaos marines

vs.

Bugs, crons, da boyz

i just wanted to test out a small council after reading this thread.

my full squad of howling banshees managed to put a single wound on the ork war boss on bike, my scorpions that same turn managed to kill him and 2 biker nobs. then they were both wiped out the next turn.

My seer unit tho however, far seer and 4 or 5 warlocks, managed to on first turn turbo boost over, to the corner, where a 20 man squad at least of shoota boys shot at them, and assaulted. also 3 of the necron heavies shot at the council, no wounds. all saves made/rerolled and made. thats through 20 shoota boys( i know big deal bs 2) but still power in numbers, then through there assault.(which by the way i managed to take out like 8)The next turn i was tied up i killed all but 4 shoota boys and was still in assault. On there 2nd turn there genestealers out flanked and assaulted the council, they managed to put a wound on the farseer and kill 2 warlocks, for that they paid and paid dearly the council then took out 5 genestealers give or take in that assualt,(harlequins assault the genestealers look further down for there results) My turn i take out a couple more genestealers lose 2 warlocks, next turn warlock dies farseer kills a genestealer then dies genestealers eventually go down to harlies.

*my harlequins assault the genestealers
and only managed 4 wounds and 2 rending on them. 3 outta the 4 regular were saved. thats 8 man squad with shadowseer and troupe master as well. harlies eventually kill them. and the shoota boys.

so in short yes they were alot of points but they were so much better than any other unit fielded last night. they took the most punishment out there. and caused a huge distraction and were a thorn in the opponents side from round one.

So, I take it, you like the seer council? It really is a rock-solid choice.

I really like my jetbike seer council. Very effective. Not sure if I want to convert up another one to run two though. It was tough enough to do the first one.

I really cant see using a warlock squad without jetbikes.

Although since you don't have to have the farseer be part of that unit (the warlocks are autonomous of the farseer) I usually just take eldrad, and go from there.

I really like to have 5 bikes for the warlocks (as thats all I have) in games of 2000+ points.
3 warlocks have destructors
1 warlock has embolden
1 warlock has enhance.
All armed with singing spears

It probably is my best tank hunting unit I have in the army.

In games less than 2000 points, I run three warlocks.

As far as modelling goes, it isnt hard to make the warlocks as long as you don't hold robes dear to heart.

As many have said here, robes on jetbikes are really rather slowed. Wearing a dress doesn't give you mystical powers of the mind.

Here is a full squad I am working on:

yes i fething loved them, after watching 9 howling banshees plus the exarch only manage to score one WOUND on the boss which he didnt save, i was a little dissapointed, also when the harlequins charged the genestealers and only managed 2 rends and 4 wounds i was a little fething dissappointed as well. mind you the genes wernt doomed but still, i mean come the feth on 6 wounds total 3 of which stuck.....i mean you got 6 harlies+ 1 troupe master +1 shadow seer. thats 33 attacks 5 with power weapon 28 with rending.. str4 at that..... so yeah i like my seer council.

My GF would probably argue that point as well.

She has this warlock ability she uses in every game we play called: "I am cute and always right"

Sadly, my hood is useless against it as it is always active.

What?
You can take Eldrad.
Give him a jetbike 'retinue' of bikes.
Fail to have the jetbikes accompany Eldrad.
Stick Eldrad in a different unit and just fortune the Bikes from afar.
Correct? This seems like walking the rule tightrope.

Nothing unclear about the rules. The Farseer opens up the opportunity to buy a unit of Warlocks and they take up one HQ slot (Farseer and Warlocks).

Eldrad's entry states he counts as a Farseer for the purposes of purchasing a Warlock Council.

Fair game. However, I'd still run a Farseer in the Warlock bike squad.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Yeah, this is one of the only builds where Eldrad the everpresent stays home. Oh, but if he could have a jetbike, I would NEVER pay Eldar without him.

I agree 100% on that one. Even at 240 points he'd be king willy.

Its quite legal. No chicanery there. Infact, you can do it with a normal farseer without a jetbike as well.

Sorry, I love that pic and couldn't help myself.

Nice pic :-)

For the record, I've been a member of Dakka in one form or another (lurker or otherwise, thus the new alias) since the year of Prince's famed party...
