bah, I got off a few less games than I had planned! I played 2 games vs. orks though. They were both dawn of war with the orks setting up and going first... Did somone mention my luck earlier? I think that is the most biased matchup in 40k asside from assault marine spam. anyways. the first game saw my HH's gone by turn 3 with NO direct hits and maybe a dozen boys burned from his green tide. the second game is my once per week game against a friend and we always change our list for it... no Hellhounds, 8 heavy weapons teams for an incredibly close game with drop troopers coming in on turn 5 for the win. the basilisk shined brightly in both games. reports to come.
In conclusion to my horrid luck with HH's they will no longer appear in any of my lists. one will become a chimera and the other 2 will become kickass FW variant HH's with hopes for improvements in the new dex. The 3rd ed HH can suck one in 5th for all I care.

I'm still trying to understand why you needed 4+'s to kill rangers. They should be dead on a 2+ with no cover save. You do realize the flamer template hits everything it touches automatically, and that you can swivel it to get the most models hit right?

Huh? You roll vs BS for a 4+ to-hit. If it hits, all models are hit automatically, which means wound & kill on 2+. If the template "misses", then it's 4+ to hit each model before the wound & kill on 2+.

yep. and the god emperor has allowed me a mere 20% success rate on that roll. I may have to turn to slannesh

Buy new dice. Casino style dice are best, the rest roll 1's way to often.

I've had terrible luck with casino dice. I have a couple and they always roll terribly. Try taking the green dice out of a Risk set, my set of those are seriously lucky. But I suppose this belongs in the Dice Superstitions thread in Discussions.
