Dash-if they (Ghaz being attached) are all in difficult terrain , I'm pretty sure you'd not get the 3d6, only 2d6 as the unit has to move only as fast as the slowest model. I don't have a rulebook with me, so don't quote me on it.

In the open, I agree, Ghaz w/ Nobs would roll 3d6 and take the highest since Ghaz is the slowest moving model.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Well i play orks and i have destroyed alot of enemy vehicles. when i play small game i make sure i always have my Big Mek w/ Shokk Attak gun Because of its five foot range I could most likely have a good shot at your vehicle before you can deploy and on a double six you are dead and there are a lot of of chances for high strength rolls. But there is that chance for failures so I would bring in 3 big guns Doesn't matter which even the Kannon has a str 8 shot and with 36 inch range thats 3 more chances to get you before you leave the vehicle. Then throw in some tank bustas and Kommandos or meganobz.

From my experience a better way to utilize the SAG in this situation would be to wait until Ghaz n' company are within assault range then fire it.
After you roll snake eyes for strength, and a six for the blast radius just take a moment to reflect on the situation and have yourself a good long chuckle.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

I've had really mixed experiences with the Shokk Attack gun.

In the games I've taken it, it ends up being strength 7-8 and usually scatters off anything useful. I'm unimpressed.

When I take one - which is extremely rare these days - I just assume it will blow up on the first turn, taking at least a sizeable portion of a mob with it.

That way, if that doesn't happen then it's a good day.
If it manages to hit something -without scattering on to any of my army - even better.

I play a foot slogging dredd bash list and I would have a very very hard time with this unit. My only hope would be to have one 30 strong mob survive one turn of CC so that another 30 strong mob could get a charge on it. But those nobs would shred my kans like yesterdays news.

They don't since as soon as he joins them he looses Move Through Cover, and only rolls 2d6. The USR is marked with a Asterik in the rulebook and so a IC looses it when he joins a squad that does not have it.

The Eldar, more than any other army, should not only look at the output of each unit individually, but the synergy of multiple units together and their role in the force as a whole. - Fable

Yup. So if Ghaz joins the nobz, it's like the unit is in regular difficult terrain. 2d6.

Good to know. That's why I caveated that I don't have the rulebook with me.
