Subject: Re:GW no longer allows employee's as speakers at tournements?
Could you please quote me on the statement where I said that my source is "never wrong"? I cannot seem to find it, only the ones where I said that he is "reliable"...smartass.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Jervis went to Adepticon a few years ago, right before or after the Dark Angel codex was released. So, either in the last few years, JJ (or someone else at GW) has gotten a huge stick in their nether-regions, or Alessio - just couldn't go. Jes Goodwin has gone. Dave Taylor was there last year.
Heck, my wife is sick and I cancelled my trip to Adepticon - which only involes a 6 hour drive and not crossing an ocean.
GW does support tournies, but they also clearly don't see them as their only market nor the end-all-be-all of gaming either. I doubt they would ban their employees from attending Indy tournies in any fashion, but I could also imagine they would 1) go on their own - in other words, unpaid, using vacation, etc. and 2) would have a 'script' of what they can and can't divulge.

They should get that guy who's head of the studio to come over to Adepticon - y'know, the guy at the last 'open' day who stopped Jervis & Co. from answering any real questions. Then they can have an hour long seminar where he dodges and avoids questions about what's coming up beyond the 3 month window.

Deadshane's initial question was perfectly legit. "Reliable sources" are often that. They're sometimes also not. But true reliable sources are very valuable, and protecting their anonymity is a worthwhile endeavor. I for one am interested in the rumor, and would be interested in corroboration.
Mod hat on: As no confirmation has yet appeared, and as the majority of the posts in the thread are circular discussions going nowhere, I'm locking this puppy.
