CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT!

The detail and attention you put into your models is astounding. You really inspire me to work on my own BA and I can really see how you are improving with each new post. I've gotta say though, the freehand banner and the angel image on the side of your tank was the most impressive (out of an impressive force, so its the elite of the elite )

I love how in one of you first pics you had the sm with the rocket launcher and the rocket was shooting out. How'ed you do that?

And they just fit almost perfectly into that spot too, like it should be there.

Thanks guys, if you keep doing it all for long enough eventually you seem to get some of it right hehe I really do love the banners, I wish I could have more in my army. Thats why I painted the free hand on the landraider actually. I really want to find more places to do some, I may on the comand squad razorback when I get to it. Thanks again for the kind words.

You'd be amazed at how simple it is. Glue rocket to plastic rod or wire, then cotton fluff to rod. drill hole into launcher and poke rod into hole. glue and twist slightly into hole to give it the impression of spiral flight. DONE. Just dont go over board with fluff.

Well the sangiunary priest is all but finished. There are a couple details left, I will get a picture when I can have better light to show the head as I am quite proud of it.

Well here is what I have been working on lately. Rhino for squad #2. its close to done.

and a retro looking top. Markings.

Only thing Im confused with is Ive managed to achieve yet another different look of dirt and mud using the same paints and inks, so it matchs in color just not pattern. Oh well each red I do for a new squad and tank is usually different too so its a force of subtle variance hehehe

Well the last post certainly seemed to go stale fast maybe this will stir something. I had the building itch lately so I went about building mutants and aliens. Some are built to look from inspiration from others work some are built on my own. I see such cool creations online I always want to own them my self. So I have selected some of my favorite.

The drone space junk thing heheh is based on Proiteus' machinicus force. I just changed it a little bit adding; like marine back pack vents to the arm holes of the stealth suit, the arm from the rock ammo pack, sensors from a marine scope and the censor ball from DA set. I dont know if Im a fan of the lightning rod on top any opinons on it?
The lion guy and hunch back are both by Shas'El Tael on dakka. The lion guy is from his site eastern-empire.com under hobby - projects. I want to add something to him I dont know if I should give him a back pack built from imp guard com converting the speaker into a search light or if I should make him less tech with a cape from the murauders set.
I haven't decided at all how to paint the rogues yet... I do think I may have to do an inquisitor to go with them all to keep them in line. Not that xenos and mutant should be tollerated but to to use them to his own end heheheh

CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT!

Those are some grade-A mutant conversions there, i especially love that floating drone

Your green stuff work is amazing, and the little touches (like the noses of the mutants next to the drone) and the bitz from Beastmen/Marauders of Chaos was brilliant. In the second picture from the top, did you use Crypt Ghouls as a base for the conversion? It's really hard to tell beyond a head here or there.

EDIT: I'd get rid of the lightning rod, the drone works so well with a smooth top and the triling wires that I feel the little thing sticking out is un-necessary. Anyhow, those are my two teef, so do whatever you want

EDIT 2: That is the best Rhino I've ever seen...wow, just....just wow, the paintjob is brilliant and things like the skull on the front (on the area covering the treads) is a nice touch. You're a phenomenal painter, good job!

Thankyou very much that was great to hear such high praise . The flying drone seems to be a popular build, everyone Ive shown seems to go nuts over him. but all seem to say chop the lightning rod. I had fun making the feral mutants and humans, and yes those are crypt ghouls. I got a box as a present because I wanted to make mutants out of them. Im glad to hear you like my rhino I was so proud of my self for thinking that I could add the skull to the tank as the actual squad marking. Thanks for all the comments!!

I figured some of my characters of old needed a little sprucing up. So the Librarian got a touch up. Since I actually think I'll be using this chaplain with my ground assault death company, he got repainted to match the old Codex cover.

Lots going on on my desk. The Rhino needs it's tracks added, and the intior finished. And a first for my self, the drop pod. But since I have Rhinos for everyone I thought it might be interesting to give it to the death company. Any advice on which i should give it the stormbolter or the launcher? Also I'm trying to decide on what else I should paint red since it seems unbalanced at the moment.

I was in love so much with the lion xenos that I decided maybe that I need to do a whole Pride.

I never realised the variation in lengths of heads the Beastmen had till I started trying to sculp on top of them hehehe. It will make for great genetic variance. I am quite pleased with their new noses. Now to do appropriate hair styles for combat cats.

Biggest problem I face thou at the moment is the lack of guard torsoes I have lieing around. I didnt want to go and have to buy more since I got into a car accident a couple days ago and will have to pay to repair my car out of pocket. SO when in doubt, Build your own.

They don't look perfect but they'll do I hope.
I have been thinking how on earth I was going to use them. Then it hit me, count ass witch hunters additions. I plan on turning the drone thing to a savant henchman and think I have decided I need to make two of them... maybe. So that means I will make the lions Pride a squad of Storm troopers. They will all have the plasma pistol gun representing hellguns, and I will convert two special weapons carriers. They I've decided need to be the male Lions of the pack. (thats right the animal kindom is sexist)

You may have noticed the test one has paint on it. I'll post pics of just him and his armour's camo pattern later. I need opions on it. I like that I went with extreme contrast to his face by picking a darker urban camo pattern. Also seemed an interesting combo with a savana animal. Think Planet of the Apes but make Caesar a lion in Zigfried and Roys possession. They grew up in the most urban setting one can get practically.

What, what?! an update?
http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=60227&id=172179092796929
I sent an email to the GW blog last year when they announced the release of new Blood Angels on my birthday, I took this to be a sign and wanted to share with them my excitement and some of the newest things I had worked on recently. I never heard back from anyone and nothing ever turned up online till... Yesterday it seems they decided to post a gallery with my photos on the GW facebook site. I was pumped and honoured they would doe such a cool thing. I wanted to brag a little and share the link. I have been terribly busy lately and have little to show for in work on my crimson company but have been re-inspidered to try and make a little more time for them.
