The sewer priest looks good....though I'd love to see a closer pic/differnet angle....what head have you used?

The Archivist looks great, perfect head choice...where is the book he is holding from?

Ok well how about this for a few ideas! Commissar Molotov gave me this, written by Gav Thorpe a few years ago....if you want me to spoiler just ask

Cultists: Death Cult; Haemovores; The Faceless; The Creeping Shadow; Resurrectionists; Redemptionists; Disciples of Mandragora; The Hidden Hand;
Sisterhood – Task Mistress; Sister Hospitaller; Sister Repentia
What these might be?

Barbarians
Feral Warrior - pretty much your Conan/ Leela type, with hunting knife, bow, etc. Tattoos all across the skin.
Scalp Hunter - Pretty much same as above, perhaps with hatchet/ tomahawk and of course lots of grisly trophies.
Beast Warrior - One of two things: either a were-creature of some type (hmm?) or a beast-handler with sabre-fang (more likely).

Tech-types
Techno-cultist - a technophile, real cyberpunk nutter who just wants more and more implants and bionics, most of them inconsequential except to him. A hi-fi buff for 40K. Has a flying skull for a walkman!
Mechanicus Acolyte - The equivalent of the verger in the Temples of the Machine-God. Just starting his career as a Techpriest (not actually allowed to be called a Techpriest yet).
Calculus Logi - A human computer (also known as a lexmechanic), very good at calculating trajectories and firing angles, and predicting enemy movements.
Helixus - A gene-specialist Techpriest who carries all manner of DNA-engineered organisms.
Monotasks – The Monotask is a sub-category of servitor, named because they have been reconstructed to perform a simple, physical task. Commonly they are used as load-lifters and cranes, but more exotic monotasks include the heavy weapon mount and the mobile weapons rack.

Officials
Magos-Technocrat - A high-ranking Techpriest, part researcher and part salesman, the Technocrat is responsible for negotiating trade deals with other worlds for new technologies.
Solar Priest - Worships the sun as an incarnation of the Emperor or, heretically, worships the sun instead of the Emperor. Astronomer/ Astrologer.
Savant - A true scholar, of history, literature, astro-cartography, etc. Not great in a fight but an invaluable aide for digging up bits of arcane lore and suchlike.
Magister - An official of the Adeptus Arbites, licensed to bring law and order. A high-ranking Judge who can propose law as well as enforce it (although itll be decades of debate before it becomes an Imperial statute, of course).
Sycophantos - Mentally engineered to speak only positive things (even if they are lies) about those who hire him, the Sycophantos can be a double-edged accomplice. His constant remarks along the lines of Oh, good shot, sir!, and Very wise move, sir! can bolster the nerves of those nearby, but equally can distract his comrades with Dont worry about those three hulking big Chaos Renegades, sir, youll best them!.

Strange Uns
Astropath - Astrotelepath, capable of using the warp to communicate long distances. Physically blind but possesses a sixth sense more accurate than eyesight.
Warp-Seer - A prophet who uses the time-distortion of the warp to foretell the future, in co-ordination with the Emperors tarot. Annoying habit of telling people when and how they are going to die.
Untouchable - These are psychic blanks, with little or no registering presence in warpspace, rendering them virtually immune to psychic powers, but similarly they are soulless individuals whose presence gives those nearby a disturbed feeling. The most extreme Untouchables are the Pariahs, who have a negative presence in the warp, absorbing psychic energy. They cause fear and revulsion in all who meet them and are used by the Culexus Temple of the Officio Assassinorum to annihilate enemy psykers.

Rough Types
Pirato-renegade - Adventure and booty are this characters goals. If you can pillage it, hell take it. Interesting twist is the Pirato-grafter who steals body parts and organs from his victims and has them grafted on to his own body.
Desperado - Down-trodden and a fugitive, the Desperado will hire his guns and blades to the highest bidder. No job too small or dirty: back-stabbing, cold-blood killings, patricide and infanticide, all are missions hell take, if the price is right. In fact, his grandmother is for sale right now at a bargain price.
Gunslinger - Hes the man to beat. Flashy, and fast, he wants to carve himself a reputation across the whole sector as the man you face at your peril. Calm, imposing and deadly accurate, the gunslinger isnt adverse to do a little enforcement work, or doing good deeds if his overgrown machismo is appealed to.
Gun Runner – a reprobate who specialises in smuggling exotic Imperial and alien weaponry (often stolen), and is equipped with much of it himself.

Cyber-berserkers
Chrono-Gladiator - Fitted with numerous bionic weapons and attachments, the Chrono-gladiators have a pre-set self-destruct deadline, which is only extended when they are in battle, so they thirst for battle as they thirst for life itself.
Arco-Flagellant - The Ecclesiarchy may enlist the services of the Adeptus Mechanicus to turn a notable Heretic into an Arco-Flagellant. Implanted with frenzy-inducing chemical dispensers and emotive pattern regulators, the Arco-Flagellant can be turned into a mass of boiling hatred and anger, his muscles super-charged with adrenal fluids, causing him to run amok until he collapses from exhaustion.

Investigators
Bounty Hunter - Always gets his (or her) man, the Bounty Hunter uses everything they can to trap their quarry, killing them only if necessary. Some aliens are employed as bounty hunters, and a few are even Inquisition-sanctioned (to make them a suitable scapegoat for a later date, obviously).
Witch-Seeker - Accompanied by a psyber-familiar who can detect psychic emanations, the Witch-Seeker is an officer from one of the Inquisitions dreaded Black Ships, who is sent onto the surface of worlds to learn if they are tainted by the presence of psykers.
Archeaoxenan - This treasure-hunter searches out lost alien technology in the hope of trading it with Imperial officials and the Priesthood of Mars. He is an expert on alien histories, and has a view of the cosmology of the galaxy that frequently gets him dubbed a heretic by the Ministorum, or dangerously well-informed by the Inquisition. Not adverse to breaking a few Imperial laws if it gets him where he wants to go. Frequently caught smuggling forbidden artefacts, but has powerful patrons to look after him.
Explicator – It is the duty of an Explicator to find answers. From people. Explicators are expert torturers and interrogators, able to inflict considerable amounts of non-lethal pain to elicit information from their subjects. They specialise in intimidation and breaking people's resistance, and carry a wide range of thought and mind-altering elixirs to further aid them.

Professional Bullies
Bosun - Left on-world after a pressgang, and then forgotten, this poor Naval Boson looks for work where his skills of intimidation and flogging are useful. Quite often used as an enforcer by merchants guilds and workers unions, his brutality and lack of common humanity sometimes make him an ideal tool for a ruthless Inquisitor.
Overlord - Wherever there is hard or manual labour, there are those who avoid getting their hands dirty by being in charge. The Overlord is just such a man, come up through the sweating ranks, hell use every means at his disposal to get the hardest work from his charges. This isnt just restricted to physical bullying and intimidation, he is also adept at cheap bribery and other means of coercion.
Warden - Criminals are the scum of the galaxy, worse than aliens. Well, thats the Wardens view. Trained by the Adeptus Arbites to uphold the dehumanising, soul-crushing Imperial penal system, the Warden does not hesitate to lash out with his shock maul if he thinks you deserve it.
Slave Runner - Trading in slaves is not against Imperial Law, though it is banned by some Imperial Commanders. Alien slaves can be more valuable than human slaves too. Although the Slave Runner does not care about the misery and abuse heaped upon his charges, he does want them to stay in the best physical condition for the best price, and so is well versed in medicinal skills and first aid.
Schola Progenium Drill Abbot – It is the task of the Drill Abbot to give specialised combat training to Commissars and Storm Troopers. They are almost always Imperial Guard veterans themselves and have only a secular rank within the Ecclesiarchy. They are skilled in almost any forms of warfare but are particularly adept at instilling the doctrines of the Imperial Creed and building up pain resistance, stamina, self-confidence and discipline, all of which they possess in abundance themselves.

Altered Guardsman
Gland War veteran - A leftover from one of the Imperiums more dubious military experiments, this soldier has been implanted with overactive hormonal glands, leaving him a disfigured, misshapen wreck. However, being able to flood his system with adrenal fluids and endocrines makes him almost immune to pain and inhumanly strong. Unfortunately, the side effects turn him a mental imbecile.
Sagitarii - Bionically enhanced by the Techpriests to be an expert marksman, the Sagitarii is literally a living weapon. His brain has a neural link to his weapon, making it act like a limb, and combined with his multi-spectral, range-finding eye implants, he can spot and target a foe with unerring accuracy. To help steady his aim further, the Sagitarii has unfolding, spider-like bionic legs implanted in his torso which can be extended as stabilisers.
Psybercon - This penal legion trooper has psy-implants that boost his psychic potential way above that of a normal human. Unfortunately, he has little control over his abilities and more often than not will lash out instinctively with a blast of pure psychic energy. The implants contain an auto-destruct mechanism that will kill him if it detects any sign of interference by a daemon or warp entity, and unfortunately will also end his life if he has any other psychic contact, such as telepathy or a mind scan.

Psychic Specialists
Soulguard - A Soulguard is like a psychic earthing rod, a psychic bodyguard for important personages. Bionic adaptations increase the link between the Soulguard and the warp, making him act as a conduit for psychic energy, drawing psychic attacks away from the target and into the Soulguard.
Psi-tracker - The psi-tracker is capable of using the warp to trace the recent movements and memories of his prey. When he is fixed on his target, there is almost nothing his quarry can do to avoid being run down eventually.
Daemonhost – This is a name given to individuals partially possessed by a warp entity, most commonly a daemon. They may have been possessed voluntarily, or involuntarily sacrificed by a daemon-worshipping cult. Also, the Ordo Malleus will use heretics and other bad types as Daemonhosts to study the patterns and signs, in which case the Daemonhost will be covered in psi-traps and tattooed pentacles, wards and other sigils to prevent the daemon taking full control or escaping back to the warp.

Sneaky types
Pathfinder - The Pathfinder specialises in finding hidden routes to places. He can examine floor plans and blueprints and analyse maps as if he were there, actually crawling through the venting ducts or swimming along the sewer channel. There is almost nowhere he cant get in, and once he is there, he can disappear just as easily. His first action is always to look for the way out, once he knows that, hes happy.
Infil-traitor - The infil-traitor has been adapted by mind-scrub technology, so that his brain is a blank, and can be psychically implanted with the thoughts and memories of another. Until a pre-designated trigger, such as a keyword, psychic message or event, he will believe that he is the personality implanted, and no amount of psychic probing or interrogation can prove otherwise. When the trigger is given, he will single-mindedly seek to complete the mission objective that has been imprinted on his subconscious, usually sabotage, assassination or returning to his masters with the information he has learnt.
Ranger - The perfect scout, theres no hiding from a Ranger. He can find out any information, given time, storing it all in a cerebral digital memo-pad for later use - either as part of a given mission, or for selling on to others who would pay dearly for such information (sometimes even blackmailing certain people or organisations before deleting the data).

Marines
Grey Knight - Secretly founded after the Great Heresy, the Grey Knights are the militant arm of the Inquisitorial Ordo Malleus. Every Marine is a psyker, specialising in the banishment of daemons and hunting down possessed psykers.
Astartes Lexicanium - This Space Marine Librarian does stuff
Deathwatch Brother - The Brotherhood of the Deathwatch is spread across the Imperium, under the auspices of the Ordo Xenos of the Inquisition. They stand guard by ancient alien worlds, the realms of the Necron/ C'an, the derelict empire of the Sorossi, in the Halo stars. They are ready to counter any resurgence by these abominable races, and it is not uncommon for a Deathwatch Brother to lead a Xenos kill-team.
Marine Aberrant – A Marine Aberrant has suffered some form of corruption in his gene-seed which renders him incapable of battle duty. This may have come about during his conditioning to become a Space Marine, or developed later as the gene-seed takes its effects. Although this removes them from being Battle Brethren, they are still useable by the Inquisition. The more popularly known versions of Marines Aberrant are Blood Angels suffering from the Red Thirst, and the Wulfen of the Space Wolves.
Imperial Guard special forces
Storm Trooper - highly trained warrior, specifically in shock and stealth tactics. Has good equipment, including helrifle, laser sights, and grav chute.
Templar Psykologis - part of a unit trained in psychological warfare and carrying special hallucinogenic grenades, hololithic projector, terror-amplifiers and panic inducers. With special modifications and hypnotherapy to make them almost fearless themselves.
Bombardier - an expert in grenades and other explosives, setting booby-traps and suchlike. Carries a rapid-firing grenade/ rocket launcher and demolition charges.

Cultists
Death Cult - The Death Cult specialise in ritual murder and assassination. For them the greatest sacrifices are those who themselves have killed, and it is not uncommon for Death Cult members to get themselves recruited into the security forces or Imperial Guard so that they may offer up those whose hands are also stained with murder. The art of the blade is paramount to Death Cultists; different types of incisions, lacerations and punctures, the weapon they are inflicted with, and the location they are made, all have special significance to dedicating the soul to the Blood-hungry One.
Haemovores - To become spiritually strong, one must be physically strong. To be physically strong, one must be at the top of the food chain, the ultimate predator. The Haemovores seek to improve themselves, to gain their rightful positions of power, by consuming those they perceive as powerful. They are cannibals, glorifying in their internecine gluttony, preaching that their unwholesome acts condense humanitys magnificence into a few individuals. Many Haemovores have sharpened teeth or metal jaws, most carry marrow-spoons and brain forks, whilst the highest-ranking may even have limb-grinders and flesh-strippers fitted directly to their digestive system. Occasionally, a Haemovore may be fitted with additional tanks of bile and stomach acid so that he may consume all the faster (pre-digestion by others is not allowed).
The Faceless - Be unremarkable. Be average. Dont stand out in a crowd. The Faceless originally sprang from paranoid fears that swept through the galaxy during the Age of Apostasy and Vandires Frateris Templars purging whole worlds for perceived heresies. Their philosophy of normalcy has unfortunately become perverted over time to the point that they no aspire to become everyone and no-one. Ritual brainwashing combines with surgical techniques to remove any evidence of individuality or personality. Physical characteristics are interchangeable, and it is not uncommon for members of the Faceless to have their own skins, eyes, and other features removed, to be constantly replaced by those of their victims. Thus the cultists face often appears stitched on, stretched or floppy.
The Creeping Shadow - Fear is the key. Terror brings understanding. The Creeping Shadow believe that mankind should be scared, terrified of what waits for it in the galaxy and beyond. They decry the ignorance perpetuated by the Inquisition and other Imperial authorities, seeing a lack of knowledge as a weakness - forewarned is fore-armed, after all. The Creeping Shadow works by spreading discord and panic, believing that any kind of terror is beneficial, that mankind should be paranoid, afraid and phobic. Sabotage, mass poisonings, terrorism, kidnapping, nailing dead cats to the front of shrines, mass hysteria and war-mongering are all the tools of the Creeping Shadow. The darkness holds the horror, and there is great gulfs of darkness between the stars.
Resurrectionists - The Emperor shall come again. Once more His mortal shell shall be invigorated by His Divine Will. His great spirit can be brought back from heaven and he shall throw away the shackles of the Golden Throne and step forth once more to finish the Great Crusade to make the galaxy humanitys forever. The resurrectionists are one of the oldest and most heretical cults, springing from a common foundation with the Holy Inquisition itself. They believe that certain rites and rituals can return the Emperors soul to his body, imbuing it with true life again. Such an occurrence, should it ever happen, would be mankinds downfall, as a schism of believers and disbelievers would tear the Imperium apart. The Resurrectionists have powerful allies, in the Ecclesiarchy, the Adeptus Terra and even amongst the Inquisition itself.
Redemptionists - To live is to sin, and to be a sinner is to be cleansed. Only the fiery wrath of the Emperor, as pronounced and executed by his mortal followers, can save humanity from destroying itself in a morass of carnal wantonness and tolerant servitude to those who have been corrupted. The Redemptionists will bring fire and they will bring death, and those who oppose them are sinners themselves for they shield the dark and unholy from the righteous works of the Redemptionists. Repent and join, or be cursed and die.
Disciples of Mandragora - Stagnate and die, revolt and survive. Mandragora, the Ever-Shifting God, shall come from the heavens and nothing will remain the same. All will be changed, adapted and fashioned in His image, to overcome the tribulations of the future. The alignments of the mundane world must be prepare to allow his traverse from the Realm of Many Faces, the foes of change must be removed to pave the way for the Great Upheaval. Wield his magicks with pride, glorify in the transformation of your physical shell, and bring down his servants so that you might be a host to an aspect of Mandragora.
The Hidden Hand - Upon the pyres of the dead and dying, we shall light a fire to the heavens that the gods themselves might see us once more. Thus spake the founder of the hidden hand, the Plague Lord. Mankind is a disease, spreading across the galaxy like a stain. The gods have turned from the filth of their presence. It must be cleansed so that the gods will pour their bounties upon humanity once more, and pestilence and plague shall be the tools - a thief to catch a thief, a plague to kill a plague. Poison the wells, defile the air, pass contagion by touch to all those who pass by. When the corpses outnumber the living, light the fires of purification and pass their souls unto the netherworld to take your pleas and prayers to the gods.

Sisterhood
Task Mistress – Task mistresses are found throughout the Sisterhood, and are responsible for maintaining discipline and deciding punishments for Soriritas Sisters who have transgressed the many aspects of Sisterhood Lore. This may vary from instant physical rebuke from the Task Mistress herself, to incarceration to contemplate one's sins, or even relegation to the status of Sister Repentia.
Sister Hospitaller – Sisters from the Orders Hospitaller are dedicated to giving physical and spiritual succour to those in need. They are expert chirurgeons, and frequently are found in Imperial Guard field hospitals tending to the battle-wounded. An Inquisitor will often make use of a Sister Hospitaller's skills during the course of his investigations, preferring the independence of having his own trained physician rather than relying on other organisations that may be in league with his enemies.
Sister Repentia – A member of the Sisterhood may be stripped of all rank and rights, reduced to a Sister Repentia. They are banned from Holy Service for the duration of their punishment and may suffer other castigations in the form of frequent physical punishment, enforced fasts and confinement. Often Inquisitors will take the services of a Sister Repentia who may be more 'free-thinking' than her Sisters.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Damn missed the update. Archivist Exan Morley is looking very nice, I really like the colour of the wooden board and the text on it and the book are great. The pinky red power armour differentiates it from GK parts too.

Have to ask how you painted the brown robe, the colour and effect is great.

I think, I started with Calthan Brown and used some very cheap acrylic colours and some Revell earth and dustcolours for the highlights and an used Gryphonne Sepia, Devlan Mud and Badab Black for the shadows and the dirt.

Thx guys!

@Gerner: She's an old Confrontation Model from Rackham. From the Gryphons, I think.

@Topic: New week, new stuff!

I have no name for this guy. I simply call him "The Jugde" (Joseph Dredd as name will be to simple ). He's an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor and his roots are in the Adeptus Arbites. So I gave him a blue armor like my Arbites have it, too. I think, he's a more worldly man. A simple, tough warrior for justice in the Imperium.

I used the technique which was presented in the last White Dwarf in the Blanchitsu article: I gave him the base colours (mostly with foundation colours), then i inked the whole miniature with Gryphonne Sepia, the gold with Thraka Green and the metal parts with Asurmen Blue. And finally I made some highlights. That's all. Before I inked him, he looked very crappy, but after the inking I liked him.

Oh man! Happy new year everyone! I had a lot to work last months, so I had no time and inspiration for more stuff. But: Today I made three Conversions from the new Vampire Counts Crypt Horror for I-Munda/Inq28. Here they come!

The first one is straight from the box: A Ghoullord, a monstrous mutation from the underground of the macropoles.

A herald of Khorne.

And a Dark Eldar Grotesque, which was my first idea, when I saw the Crypt Horrors.

All still WIP, so stay tuned.

An update like that deserves a response.

The herald of khorne is superb and I'm jealous that I hadn't thought of it....I might steal is though. One thing that could do with a little work though is the sword and handle need to be straightened out.

The grotesque is cool too....better than the static pose official model..but very much in keeping.

Thank you very much guys! The three new ones are still WIP. I like building new stuff more in the moment than painting. So I had done some more WIPs last time:

First, two very simple WIPs: Mutants with flamer and auto-cannon. Based on Orks with Crypthorrorheads.

The second had a little bit more work. I call him "The Torturer" (very simple, I know). He's build with a body of the Cairn Wraith with Dark Eldar Talos and Imperium Flaggelants bits:

And the last one is a mutant warrior. The body is from the Nurgle Chaos General with bits from different boxes (Orks, Terminators, Mutant Sprue, etc.):

That's all for today!

Nice models you have made there!

Are you planning to keep the mutant warrior on the square base on top of the circle base?

@Gerner: The square base is clued on the circle base. Next step will be to finish the base with some texture paste. I used this technique at the Skullcollector (ok, at the photo you can't see it very good) and it is a nice effect to making a higher, destructed base with the details of the original one.

Nice idea on how to still use the square base.
