Something I always like to consider is that there's a bias. We don't notice the 90 times something goes as-expected the same way we notice the 10 oddball fringe times. It's easy to 'notice' a sequence of weird events because we tend to mentally edit out the normal events between them.

It seems each of my armies have their own set of dice now. Their color coded, and match my armies paint scheme. If I try using my Eldar dice with my SM's they fail epicly. Same way with my SM's dice for my eldar.
My High Elves don't have a paint scheme yet. As such I don't have a dedicated dice set for them. Strangely enough plain white dice work the best for them atm.
The only other superstition that I may have is blowing on the dice. I'll do that before an important armor save. Usually pays off.

If I go to Cracker Barrel the morning of a tournament I will win at least one more game and will walk away with some prize. It hasn't worked once I believe and that was because I brought Dwarfs.

If you kill your last opponent as the midnight bell tolls, and drink his blood, then it is said that the next codex release will favour you.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

If you have themed your army, it is best to play to the theme.
Savage Orcs for example, will quite happily mash up any enemy in the game if given a frontal charge. Stick them in the flank or rear, and clearly all the poncey manouvering confuses their tiny minds, to the point where they forget how to hit stuff.
The Wyvern SHOULD aim for it's first turn charge every turn. If I hesitate, it and the Warboss get their heads kicked in when they finally make combat. If I trust in The Waaagh, and go for it, the enemies biggest, hittiest most expensive character will be a gorey smear on the ground in short order!
The bigger the risk, the more likely it is to lead you to spectacular victories. See it, seize it, number crunch it later!

I'm much happier when I don't give my boys eavy armour - I can roll more 6+ saves than 4+ ones.
I am the 6+ save master!

It is guaranted that warhorses will always outperform knights.
It doesnt really matter if you get the charge in or not, because horses are not equipped with lances.
The most devastating unit in Warhammer would be a herd of riderless warhorses, those things are wounding machines.

^^^ Qft. What's that you spent 3 hours on each knight and it appears his lance is made of rubber? Don't worry you're horses will cause twice as many wounds.

The Emperors champion can only kill things 'worthy' of him. Put him against spine gaunts, grotz, guard, boyz, anything 'easy' to kill and he's toast. Put him up against anything as hard or harder than him and he will mess it up. I've lost him to chaos cultists, grotz, RnF SoB, but he has quite happily done over carnifexes, dreadnoughts, space marine chapter masters, Lysander etc etc.... you get the idea.

Ha, I wish this wasn't true, but the many horrible deaths of my old Heroic Senior officer tell me otherwise.
Have to second the "anything but a one". Its the easiest way to get ones.
Additionally, when I roll to steal the initiative I use a black die. I have no idea why, but reliably three out of five times a six comes up.

Expensive Dice Do not Roll better then non-expensive dice. Dinosaur Bone dice do not make you god.
That said, roll the largest dice possible. That way your opponent is more demoralized when he can see you roll well from across the table.

The last Terminator always dies.
Terminators always die to something silly like a single spinefist shot, or a scattered tau airbursting fragmentation projector, or a single lasgun.
These two seem to apply only to me.
The venom cannon never deals damage. It will miss, fail to damage or wound, glance but fall off the table due to the penalty, get ignored by POTMS, Possession, or Extra Armor, and/or they'll make their cover save. My Barbed stranglers will run a LR's day tho.
A zoanthrope will never land a focused blast in a meaningful fashion. It fails it's test 9/10 times, misses it's to-hit roll, fails to damage or wound, only glances and gets ignored by possession or falls off table, pens but gets ignored by possession, or gets a crew stunned/shaken on something missing appropriately either the movement or shooting ability, whichever it is that inconveniently interferes with my crew shaken/stunned. If I shoot an immobilized predator with only a sponson heavy bolter left which is facing away from my units away and I shoot it cuz it's the only thing in range... penetrating hit - destroyed explodes, go figure.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent. |

One of my friends almost always passes 4+ armour saves.
If your Archon is epicly tooled up and is jumping out of the raider for a first turn charge then he will roll a one for his fleet roll leaving him 1/2" outside charge range.

When I played/play SM I NEVER spend points on lascannons as I can never hit a damn thing with them
Something I notice Im anal about lately is I make my opponent roll ALL the armor saves at the same time from CC. I swear if you roll it in smaller chunks instead all at once, they save better and it annoys me. We actually have a bucket for everyone to roll with lol
