Geez, both warcaster faces are truely ugly even for Elves The jacks well I think too much inspiration came from anime here, they all have that APPLESEED feel & style and especially the infantry unit looks like Appleseed police troopers with their helmets. The jack´s hands are much too tiny and the poses are rather boring too. The paint sceme truelly makes the entire range boring to look at.
Great work PP... Guess we are seeing PP going the same route as Rackham soon...

Well I am just guessing from what I seen in my local gaming group which covers about a dozen WM players: there has been a severe lack of interest in PP for a while now especially since the Legends rulebook. Many people were annoyed by the severe real prices of some units (Cryx Trolls, the new Dwarfs with Hammers...) and that every army seems to have rules meanwhile that counterfeit special rules of other armies.
I know there is a new 2nd edition coming out with rules changes to counter some issues but feedback of these changes from my gaming groups hasn´t been very positive either. I for myself have switched back to the core of my tabletop gaming i.e. still 40k and that while I own a huge Cryx army, some Cygnar and Trolls...
Although PP has reduced prices of many units now by ~20% I am still not tempted to buy anything new, sorry...

No, more like complaining their producs dont sell and that distributors in uk and other parts dont want to take their lines... and crushing numbers after 2 month new released lines to see if its viable... In short moaning about many dont want to carry rackham lines anymore.

AT sells more than well. Confrontation addmitedly needs some pushing.
And not only Rackham has problems with LGS not selling their stuff, at the moment most only sell WM and GW, already FoW is getting problematic and they really are the rising star of the industry
@ Retrib
Nice design but nothing to write home about. Too much of the same.

I think Rackham left the train of those companies you mentioned long time ago... I think its safe to assume if Rackham had only the problems of FOW she would be on the right track again.
PP shiffting the materials and this new design is a very risky thing to do these days... lets see how it goes. I hope it does well, we dont need more mini companies in the risk of shutting down.

Only the price of the heavy (plastic) Myrmidon kit is dissapointing IMO. How does it compare, price wise, with a 40k plastic Dreadnought.?

I'm laughing to myself at these, but I don't really know what to think of them. I don't know if I hate them, or if they are some joke, or if these are good in a comically overdone way, or what. I'm just laughing at the whole set for some reason.

I'm laughing too, but I don't want to say why since I don't want to incur the wrath of angry WM fanboys. Although I will ask this...
All I want to know is why they're jacking up prices to GW levels, despite the fact that they know perfectly well the majority of their fanbase is made up of disgruntled GW fans who left because of ridiculous prices? I want to know why they're releasing plastic kits now when for the longest time they used all metal models as a selling point for the game? Seeing as how a lot of their fanbase has a near rabid obsession with metal models (mostly PP's own damn fault) and needs every jack they buy to have considerable "heft" to it in order to justify the cost, it seems like a strange move to make. And the release of this sci-fi Elf army despite the wishes of their hardcore, balls-obsessed fanbase doesn't make much sense, either. Granted it was the fans who defined WARMACHINE as "steampunk" in the first place, but still...
It just looks to me like PP is turning into GW, and personally I find it amusing. Pissing off the customers with high prices, chasing profits instead of pretending to be your friend like they were in the beginning, and screwing around with their background to attract new customers a la Tau (Which admittedly got me into 40k, though at times even I wish the Tau never existed so I wouldn't be the subject of hate and scorn that I am now, or that I would have at least gotten into the game with a race that everyone loves like the Spess Mahreenz instead! Or at least a race I could win with...).
But anyway! I've gone on about that too long.
Honestly though I was really kinda looking forward to this release, since I liked the artwork for them a lot and I've been looking at WM a lot lately, but...wow, seems like the guys at PP really can't sculpt all that well. The characters are both pretty horrible-looking, especially the female character who looks nothing at all like the concept artwork. The jacks are also not quite what I was expecting, and the pauldrons are fething HUGE! So big they make Spess Mahreenz jealous, I mean wow.
I do like the weapons though, despite being the comically large, impractical, anime-inspired goodness that they are. If only they could have been toned down a bit instead of so ridiculously over the top. The best unit out of all of them are the troops, who are sadly the most expensive. Am I reading that right, $50? Why are these guys better than GW again? Because it certainly isn't because of the sculpts I can tell you that.
I dunno...I'm still kinda interested, but ultimately it's just too over the top for me. They do look more like a joke, not that I can really take any of the WM armies all that seriously, but still, at least no one else is running around with swords bigger than they are.

PP is turning into GW because the GW business model is immensely profitable and PP is just as interested as making profit as any other company. They just didn't adopt it all at once, but give it a while and the two will be practically indistinguishable. They now have customers just as loyal as the worst GW fanboys, and as such can price the game anyway they want.

Where did you pull this from? Nobody's opposed to Warmachine getting a new faction, certainly not Warmachine fans.

George: Gross metaphor.
The angry fans are the same ones who complained loudly about 40k. The elves have
always been in the background, as have these mysterious things called Myrmidons. I
don't get how they are Tau as Tau were flat faced aliens in samurai-esque armor and
battlesuits known for their shooting as well as their alliances with under-developed (plotwise)
races such as the Vespid and Kroot to make up for any deficiencies in their Empire.
The Iosans are Elves with their own form of technology that doesn't interfere with
the souls of Elves. They have guns and crossbows and gunblades and wristblades.

I'm seriously going to take the myrmidons, cut off their legs, attach a wheel, and have an uber army of GizmoDucks. And then never let them out of the closet for fear of being blinded by their sheer awesomeness. And attractiveness.

The female Warcaster looks okay. I they have a male counterpart it would be perfect for a Jak miniature.
But I still don't like the other stuff. imo, they just don't fit into the setting. It was the same with the High Tech Dark Elves in Tales of Symphonia.
