The guys from SC will most likely be there as well. Closest semis other than The Hobbit up in NC is Phoenix games outside ATL, and its an extra hour drive time. It will be BA, SW, IG coming from the fort mill top 3 and from what my friend said Greenville Borderlands was Necrons, Vulcan list, and I keep forgetting the other one for some reason.

The ticket I gave up is responsible for the Tyranid player.

I know that Asugrad I might not be playing my guard. But those were the teams that won. I forgot about bakersfield, you guys have a major haul but I look forward to seeing you guys there. I wonder where the other locations are. Game Empire can hold about 30 people so they shouldn't run out of room at least

I won at Adventurer's Guild with my current flavor of Close Combat Nidzilla. Second went to mech Tau, third to double seer council Eldar. I plan on running Nids at the semis, mostly because of familiarity. I rarely play 40k anymore and my Nidzilla seems to stack up well against most competitive stuff out there, provided I manage to keep my head out of my ass and in the game. Lets see if I can keep my trend going of winning all six games and not advancing to the finals for a third year in a row!

Anyhow, my opponents were:

Space Wolves-
Nice well rounded army, but the guy did not have a solid plan for dealing with outflanking stealers and it cost him, as one unit of stealers chewed through a predator, two landspeeders, and a rhino before a bloodclaw squad finally killed the last of them off. In the end, Massacre for me (22pts) and an easy game.

Mech Orks with a side of Nob Bikers-
This, frankly, is the army mine is tailor made to stomp. It did not dissapoint. He did manage to take out my Tyrant Guard unit in hand to hand, which nearly never happens, but I completely stomped him on every other part of the table, especially with Stranglers drilling his lootas into submission. One rounding his footslogging meganob squad with a flyrant and a UberFex and explaining Implant Attack were the highlight of my day. I had 25 KP to his 12, so Massacre (21pts) again for me.

Mech Chaos-
This guy was apparently TFG of the local store. I was ill with the flu by this point and knew I was ahead of the closest person behind me (this guy) by 13 points, so when I looked at the scenario, I made a concious choice to play for the draw. He had three Term squads mounted in LRs, two Defilers, some oblits, and three fice man buck naked plague marines to fill out core, all led by a pair of warp time princes. Well, I basically rammed by carnifexes down his throat while the rest of my army divided itself between the two objectives, the idea being that if he is busy killing me stuff, he wont have time to make a run on the objectives, beyond contesting them. This guy was not fun to play and even broke a couple of my models during the game as well as pulling some LOS schenanigans, so I, being sick, was fairly merciless by my standards. I basically focused on crippling his mobility. He was so afraid of my carnifexes that he held his entire army back for most of the game. In the end, he killed a lot of my army, but I held one objective with Genestealers, so I won a Major Victory (18pts) and the tournament.

I will probably stick with Nidzilla, but if I get some playtesting in I might try a mixed inquisition force instead.

3. Marneus Calgar Super Best Friends - Calgar, Lysander, 12x AssTerms, 2x LRC, 2x Vindicator, 3x Tac Rhinos

I ran over a mech Ork army R1, and a Shrike Marines army R2. I played the third place player in R3 (he was 1st overall at the time) and simply shot him off the table before claiming objectives.

The Khorne guy just ran people over after he popped them out of transports with his Oblits.

And Calgar Superfriends Squad guy simply drove forward until he found something for his AssTerms to whomp. It worked well for him until his hammer ran into my anvil.

From Wichita, KS but had to play a late qualifier in Olathe KS.

1st place - Speed Freak Orks. From what I saw it was 2 battle wagons and a bunch of trucks with Ghaz, lots of boys and nobs.

2nd place - Me with Vulkan Marines with landspeeder spam.

3rd place - Some strange meganob ork build.

I never played the 1st or 3rd place players. Speed Freaks just ran over people and scored 71pts out of a possible 72pts.

I ran into 2 IG players, 1st round massacre'ed one, major'ed the other in the 3rd. Faced a vulkan list in the 2nd round and major'ed.
