I have a techmarine in my da army who always survies. My friends have started to call him "the guy who can take a tiwn-linked lascannon to the chest and live."

I don't have lucky models I have unlucky models and an occasional average model.

for instance, last night I had a CSM squad with Chaos Glory (re-roll leadership tests) break after getting their rhino exploded and run of my table edge in round one before my first movement phase AND rolled four ones and a two on five dice to wound with a demolisher cannon!

I really wish I had taken notes and pictures cause it would have been a pitifully histerical batrep!

I only have UNLUCKY models.

I had a bike mounted Chaos Lt who's leading cause of death was dying to DIFFICULT TERRAIN. Later, when ICs got skilled rider, this didn't seem to stem his superhuman ability to self destruct.

I have one now, after playing a small game the other night:

I have a single Veteran Squad meltagun specialist. I know, it is horrible to have just one, but I don't have the bits to make more yet. Anyway, during one game, this single meltagun dude survived a concerted bombardment of missile launchers and plasma cannons from a devastator squad that reduced the rest of the squad to mulch (he, the sarge, and a vox were the only ones left and amazingly passed the morale check), going on to survive a barrage of storm bolter rounds from a pair of rhinos. He then proceeded to punch a hole through one of the rhinos, exploding it, and then went on the next turn to assault the remaining rhino and clamp a meltabomb on it (thanks to the demo team doctrine), wrecking it. He is now my favorite IG infantryman!

My death korps of krieg sarge. He always survives.

My Dreadnought with plasma cannon/ assault cannon has only died once! He has charged a carnifax with 4/5 wounds and won, He killed a 10 chaos terminators of tzeentch and all with power fists. He charged a broodlord, avatar and tyrant, All of them he proceeded to wipe the floor with taking nothing. He is not venerable, people ask why I take him....

I also have a terminator Librarian with storm shield with quickening, might of the anciets powers and he proceeds to pass both physic tests and kill 3 fexes a tyrant ALL his guard, , 3 warriors,a biovore, and a broodlord, all of them with his force weapon, he has never gotten perils of the warp or die I think he has failed like 1/20 physic tests

My carnifex survived like 10 fusion blasters, a LR and some plasma rifles. He then regenerated one wound the next turn.

This little guy survived two large squads of IG firing at him (with first rank fire, second rank fire on top of that) and an officer trying to carve him up with a powersword. All the while being in base contact with the objective (a sheild generator), allowing me to win the game!

More recently, he was the sole survivor of a Zerker squad, after 2 templates of hurt, survived a Penal Legion Firing squad, and the rage of a Plasma cannon weilding Crazed Dreadnaught! Responsible for holding an objective, and being the jumping point for my Daemonettes to pop out.

So Ive got some serious love for this guy.

My craziest WTF unit is in my Massive JubMarines army and was there from the start...
In the JubMarines first battle they were up against 1400pt of Chaos Black Legion with only 750pt of their own. (i had no chance of winning, so like all good mates should, he made it easier for me. If i survived 5 turns i would win.)
after taking 3 rounds of pummeling from noise marines, raptors, a daemon prince, a chaos predator, a defiler (with havoc launcher) and other assortments. I was suprised to have 2 squads of marines (on at 6 men and one remarkably still at 10! and this squad had been hit by a lascannon, and the better part of 2 rounds of chaos marine shooting) and a dreadnought. after a good round of shooting the daemon prince was finnaly sent back to the warp and the last 3 noise marines were killed. leaving the enemy with the defiler, predator, 2 squads of chaos marines and 3 of his raptors. (things do not sound as good as they seem you'll see why soon.)
When the chaos turn came round, the havoc launcher just missed the dreadnought before it was peeled open by the predator's twin-linked lascannon.
The assault phase saw the raptor meet their doom at the hands of the 6 man squad but inflicting 3 casualties.
Turn 5 saw 1 of the chaos marine squads completely annahilated by the emperor's finest. my assault phase was non-exitent. The chaos shooting phase only took out the last three marines in the crippled squad, but no casualties on the 10 man squad! Much to my amasement. when the predator tank-shocked them in rage i landed a death or glory attempt on it and the defiler only able to take one marine witha missle launcher.
ever since they have always survived the battle and i have reassigned the marine with a missle launcher with a sergeant who always passes death or glory attempts! even though the squad has fled the battle many times in the past 2 months. They just soak it all up and wont die, they flee alot more than you would expect devout space marines to (they are obviously not devout then).


I do realize that this actually is pretty ey.

my last game vs guardian heavy eldar, my pimped out warboss, squig eavy/cybork got assaulted by a squad of guardians and i think its a wraithlord? the monstrous creature thats not avatar. Da boss was solo at that point having watched his squad of boyz go down like flies, he pulls 2 5+ invuls and 3 4+ armor saves with one freaking wound left ..... counterattacks and breaks the squad of guardians with 4 kills, they fail morale and break towards board edge, next turn i survive 1 more 5+invul and tear apart the wraithlord(?). Next turn da boss dies to mass pistol fire, having killed like 3-4x his cost in points

Ima have to make some kind of medal out of greenstuff or something to give him lols...

I have a Gtretechin, [in 2nd] that kill 3 Khorne Berserkers in Melee

My thousnad sons Aspiring Sorceror. Not only has he killed Lysander and Ghazkull in CC, He slogged 3 rounds in combat against a Dreadnaught, took out a guard squad by himself, and survived being hit by vortex of doom.

Although odly, a lucky grot once managed to kill him.

My avatar is probably my luckiest model.

But then, that's not really luck, is it.

Other than him, I'd have to go with my first falcon (you know, the one with the crappy paint job). the thing's immortal, I'm telling you.

My farseer "jesus" survived two missles and six powerfist wounds in one game.

As you mention 40K and Fantasy:

40K: Imperial = Plasma Cannon trooper. Was down to only him and a Bolter, opponent was down to a Terminator - their turn - and within assault range. The Bolter Marine's attack missed, but the Plasma Cannon hit, wounded, and made it past the save before he could smack us with 3 PF attacks. In other games, he rarely (if ever) has misfired.
Chaos = "Bob", who was a Chosen w/ Talons, MoK, Strength, Furious, etc. He'd jump into the fray and chop lots of gribblies up, every time. Rarely died compared to the rest of the Champions I had, too.

Now, on the reverse end...

Space Marines = Hi, I'm Beakie the Meltagunner, and I miss. A lot.
Chaos = Chaos Dreadnought. You ever watch a Chaos Dread go only 5 inches in three turns through difficult terrain?

Fantasy: TIE = a Savage Orc Shaman, and a Goblin Champion. The Savage Orc challenged Grimgor to protect the unit he was in (Black Orcs) during a charge, and actually survived the combat with only his Warpaint. Meanwhile, the Night Goblin Boss managed to not only survive, but win a challenge against a Plague Bearer Champion in a unit that held a Herald.

Lord of the Rings / War of the Ring: A solitary Orc Tracker, who for about four turns went and won against Elves (while trapped) and consistently won. Even the (first) round he lost he wasn't killed, despite being trapped with four Elvish attacks against him.

Va'sh the seducer, my winged lash sorcerer has stood the test:

4 vindicator shells in a single game, no prob.
countless meltagun shots
flamers, lascannons etc without flinching.
takes apart dreads with his lucky meltabombs.
Blows up transports with his plasmagun and then proceeds to bitch-slap the contents silly.


The only time he dies ingloriously is when he mispronounces his words and fries himself..



My berzerker champ spent 6 rounds flat on his back in the middle of a field while vindicator shells and half of a dark angels army fired on him.
Then he slipped in a puddle and broke his neck in turn 7 (failed terrain test)

My Nightbringer moved forward, tearing chunks out of my friends' necron army, and died when they shot him down using the Gauss rule. His only defeat and the resulting explosion killed the rest of my friends' army.

For my DH army I have inquisitorial ST with a Grenade Launcher that survives every game. His greatest moment was when the rest of the squad had been blown apart by some death Kopta's and was forced to fall back. He ended up passing moral and killing two of the kopta's thus making the squad fall back. The next game he took out 3 eldar jet bikes by himself.

I actually have two big meks with shokk attack guns (One got for christmas and one I got from trading with a friend...) and the one I got from my friend never seems to die whether it's because they decide he's not worth shooting or whatever. Every game I usually roll a "Zoink" and send him flying towards the enemy... but he always seems to survive what would've been a downright slaughter of him. Out of six games I fielded him he has yet to die (Five of the games he rolled a Zoink, and one he didn't really do much except annihilate a whole squad of my loota's...).

My Chaos Sorceror. Once he and a Ksons aspiring sorceror took a shooting phase from 3 whole marine squads and survived (avoiding 6 Krak Missile hits and 2 lascannons) on the only objective winning me the game! He's my new best friend.

My friend was pretty annoyed as I had 2 guys left and bet his 30-odd marines

My Troll, whom I simply call Bog.

Bog's killed a dragon with nothing but vomit, and luck.

Bog's also survived 3 Bolt Thrower Shots, a Cannon Shot, and an Organ Gun Salvo. He then broke a unit of dwarfs.

My Warboss is always the last to die, and usually take 20-40 other units in CC, against just him, on his last wound.

I have a Shas'ui, I call him Phil, who in one game took out 2 berzerkers in assault and survived the whole game (it was amazing!), and in an Apoc. battle, after his entire squad was killed, he pretty much killed a broodlord (his drone's markerlights increased his BS and he rapid-fired out it's last two wounds!!

trevor has jumped into the ork horde 3 times now every time his entire squad has died leaving only him left

1st time killed a warboss and nobsquad
2nd time blew up a truck with melta bombs and then killed a full nob squad
3rd time killed a big mech and 2 deff dreds

Earlier today, my 5 man Guard Command Squad brought down a Carnifex in close combat.


No losses on my part AT ALL. Not even 1 wound.

Back in 4th ed, the Chimera of one of my infantry squads started the battle pretty much in the middle of the board. Turn 1, the sarge orders a 6" advance into a clearing, because he doesn't like getting dirt or scratches on the paint of his tank. For the rest of the game, that Chimera just sits there and absorbs the fury of a 1k Eldar army on its own, sustaining only a single shaken result.
On the last turn, it even manages to blow off the pulse laser of a Falcon, which has no other option than to pick up the only other Eldar survivor, the Farseer, and get the hell out of there.

Of course, my fancy assault howitzer conversion (inspired by the StuGIII, counts as an armored Basilisk) will inevitably explode when hit by anything. So far, I don't think it's ever gotten to fire a second shot (sometimes not even the first one) in any game. To make it more predictable, it always scatters off target with the first shot anyway. But I still include it, because it looks so pretty.

it was back in the days of third edition but my striking scorpion squad would not die, and would kill everything. They killed carnifexs, tyrants, thousands of kroot, terminators, grey nights. I dont know how they did it but they were amazing. The best single moment for them was in one game they were sitting in 5+ cover and were rapid fired by 3 squads of tau, 2 squads of 20 kroot, 5 crises suits, and i think 2 or 4 broadsides, and managed not to loose a single model. The kroot then proceeded to charge (3rd edition rules) and were wiped out all by a 5 man scorpion squad.

I see there's been some good old fashioned 1 month threadromancy here. Ah well. Bandwagons are fun!

I have a Termie w/ assault cannon... one game, he sat in the cover of a downed shuttle for the last 6/10 turns exchanging shots from his assault cannon with my buddy's Termies.

He must've taken over 100 hits before the game ended, and lived through all of them. Managed to take down 7 of the enemy Termies too. Oddly enough, my buddy never thought to just charge him and fist the guy's bung. Ah well. Luck is luck

Grey Knights and Kroot were in 3rd ed? This is news to me, considering I started the year 3rd ed was released and IIRC, Grey Knights and Tau didn't come out until pretty much the very end of it.
