I think the people who have actively question chapterhouses products legality are concerned for the future of their hobby, they don't want to see anyone and everyone selling eldar and 'nids! watering down the percieved quality of the hobby as a whole and I think that is acceptable.

You can't honestly believe that?

What about Maxi-Mini and the other group? Do you consider these places to be 'watering down' the 'quality' of the hobby?

Watering down the hobby? Isn't GW already doing a fine job of that their selves?

If anything, these smaller companies are doing quite right the opposite by filling niches that GW wouldn't fill any time soon.

What about more types of bare heads which could be used for IG or SM? I've seen that the Space Wolves have a whole variety of bare heads, but what about ones that aren't so hairy and beardy? I'd love to see a bare head with two bionic eyes for example!

I think variations of any sort for all armies be it heads or vehicle enhancements would be great.

Something us old salts would be able o use to "refresh" our armies.

Love the models. May ask what the status is on the ThunderWolves? While I do love converting, yours looked really good and hope to land a few when they are released.

I like the Ymgarl heads and I like doing business with Neal but I really don't want to pay $3US per feeder tendril looking head.

I'd be content with $1.50; maybe $2 but that'd be tops for me. You gotta make money so I'm not trying to low ball you or set your price for you.

Um I was considering 1-1.50 at the highest... hope that is ok The only caveat, they will probably be pewter to keep the cost down (but I have seen awesome pewters from our casters with little to no flashlines).

Bikeninja wrote:Love the models. May ask what the status is on the ThunderWolves? While I do love converting, yours looked really good and hope to land a few when they are released.

Not our models, we are thinking about making them, but if FW does it at a good price for the gamers, I see no real reason to.

On future Eldar-Space Elf bits. It all comes down to the sculptor, we are a very relaxed team here, I am pretty much the sole manager. I wont push something on someone if they don't want to do it, so when he is done with this project and if you guys show him much love, we can see what he wants to do next (Poll will be in order).

if anything we are helping their sales (cant use a stealer head with a body, or a jetbike pilot without the jetbike).

Actually their product was the only reason I decided to do a Sallies army so GW should thank them for me spending $600+ to get the entire army I needed.

I love those heads and have been thinking about a bug list when the new codex comes out......please stick with marines....my wallet cant handle any more hehehe.

Nav those sculpts look great.

For the love of god, I'd love to see some banana style alien heads, and, even better, some tail mods to add to genestealers. I got some genestealer bodies in a mondo bitz pack and I'd love to have a reason to cut them off the sprue.

I hope Chapterhouse inspires others to get involved. GW's near stranglehold on SF ttg IMHO only serves to stifle creativity and selection of customizing models. I cant wait to see what else Chapterhouse comes up with (maybe a line of weaponry - customized heavy assault rifles, flame projectors, plasma projectors etc, that are in keeping with the multitude of races.

I guess GW will tolerate it for the time being, until they will go make their own versions of it and/or start suing these indie companies.

But ok, for the time being we can enjoy all sorts of new interesting stuff!

Dude your comparison doesn't add up.
Apples primary business is making Apple computers.
ChapterHouse's primary business is making non official Space Marine chapter shoulder pads for GW Models.

My posts are not aimed at helping you become a better sculpter, or to help you give up the day job of carting buckets of manure around! Also my posts are not a direct attack on your skills, I've seen you eldar titan and worm lords and think they are very good.

But you are now a part of a company creating 3rd party alternative parts.
Your not creating your own space warriors or aliens, your making parts for GW models, and riding GW's coat tails.
You're doing this because you know your target market are not interested in non 40k future warriors or aliens.
The quality of Chapter House parts so far IMO is SubPar - judging from the marine pads etc they have on sale.

Pig-Iron / Maxi-Minis don't claim to be GW compatable.
I have no problem buying 3rd party parts, just this month I spent £125 on 15 monowheels from a 3rd party store for my grots.
These are something that GW doesn't sell, but could exsist in the 40k world. making them a true alternitive.

I have a problem with people selling SubPar direct replacement parts that degrade the look of 40K. If a kids first glimps into 40k is a army fully fitted out with the ugly chapterhouse salamander pads and other bits, he may falsely assume that this is the quality of GW models? Also GW already sell space marine pads etc, and both GW and FW sell after market add on kits/bits packs, Chapterhouse are competing directly and again IMO selling SubPar products that damage the image of the hobby.

Panic...

I think there are enough "kids" out there doing the job well enough on their own assembling "pure" GW models and painting with a house brush to potentially dispariage the "good" name of GW and the quality of their models without needing to paint Chapterhouse as somekind of boogeyman in the closet.

Panic I think your opinion is off par here but I guess that is why they call it opinions. I personally have the Sallies stuff and think it looks great, as do most of the people that view it. Granted there are some things on the site I am not a fan of but I dont run off on a rant to try to sully the rest of the products.

It doesn't impact GW's dominance at all. What he is saying it that he hopes Chapterhouse inspires others to impact GW's dominance in sci-fi table top games. I agree with that sentiment. I think too many people have given themselve so whole heartedly to GW, GW is able to really take advantage of them. GW is a plasti-crack dealer and we are the addicts. You either allow them to take advantage of you or find someone who will do so less drastically. GW has simply booted everyone out and there is little or no competition which has allowed them to dominate.

For something like a single piece head pewter won't be that horrible to work with.

I just despise big giant pewter models like greater demons and whatnot.

Warrior variant head like the stealer one posted. (simply kicks ass)

Knight like marine head and a weapon set? (GK upgrade kits would do well)

I for one would like to post a big THANK YOU! for the space elf heads and rider bodies. It's nice to hear from a company that not only acknowledges the feedback that it asks for, but implements it as well. Kudos to you!

I agree that several space elf "tribal warrior" helmets with more-or-less animal/insect attributes would be pretty cool to have. Especially spider-like helmets and or guns... hint hint.

I've been assembling my jetlock squad this week and have to wait for the magnets to arrive before finishing them up, so I guess I know where my christmas money will be spent. Any idea on a timetable of when to expect the space elf heads to be released?

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
