If no Grey Knights were possessed during the massive, massive Khornate incursion led by Angron on Armageddon...there would, quite frankly, be nothing that can possess a Grey Knight.

This was quite an interesting read. I think stomping on someones creativity for doing something out of the norm i wrong. We all enjoy the hobby and being creative is definitely part of the hobby.
Everyone should have respect for each others favorite part of the hobby. I could compare this to someone bashing say " God of War " games for doing something out the storyline. It doesnt make sense to do so for the reason being it is fiction and new storylines make the overall story better while some disagree others enjoy it.

wow, i leave for a few days, and look what happens.
i never said that the knights were possessed, nor did they fall. i decided to leave it as a mystery. they might be empty suits that were taken over by a daemon, they may be creepy alternate reality versions of the grey knights, they could quite possibly be anything, i left that stuff out for a reason. because it's too hard to justify.
anyway, i'vemade my mind up, thanks for the comments.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Aggression is fine.
What we've managed here is to NOT be complete and utter a-holes to each other.
We haven't gotten really smart @ ss about things.
We haven't started "slinging mud."
...actually, it's been a rather non-Dakka disagreement. LOL
I still believe the best bet would be looted and corrupted suits of Aegis armour, taken either by the most potent Chaos Marine veterans or, as someone else suggested, modified to allow a Daemon to live and exist outside of the Warp. A corrupted suit of blessed armour would be pretty useful to them.
Now, don't get me wrong... I LIKE that idea. I could see doing a LOT with it.
I'm just saying, you know, his models, his game, live and let live. KWIM?
@cof
Yeah.
Let that be a lesson to you. Be more attentive to your threads, mister!

Oh, certainly. The point of my posts was never to tell the OP he shouldn't do it. They're his toys. He can do what he wants with them, even if I disagree. I'm not the kind of person to get all wound up because someone wants to do something different to what I want. My main aim was to suggest that the idea of Grey Knights that have fallen doesn't work especially well in the fluff, but there are a lot of other options that could be used.
As it stands, the leave it vague method may well be the best one. People can make up there own mind as to what's in the suits and it gives them an air of mystery and malicious intent. I'd love to bring own Grey Knight force to bear on such an army, as the tale that could be told would be delicious.

The original premise, a force emerging from the warp which was a horrid perversion of a lost Inquisitor's force, is valid in and of itself. The problem lies in the EXPLANATION of that event, and the presumption that the explanation is true in any form.
It's quite clear that anyone claiming that a Grey Knight can be corrupted is a vile, filthy, lying heretic, whether that person is a 40K player or a person in the 40k universe. It is clearly the duty of any person loyal to the Emperor, who by his grace protects us all, to defeat this vile heretic, destroy his army, and ensure that none ever attempts to follow down that path again.
The whole lot of the posters in this thread should be purged for Heresy due to their weakness in succumbing to these vile lies. I expect exterminatus immediately.

I'm thinking GW might have something to say about that. Don't you play by their rules and their game? I'm pretty sure it is Warhammer 40k, not MagickalMemories 40k. . .
Corrupted grey knights don't exist in the 40k universe. Sorry.
Now that isn't to say that they wouldn't look great in that baroque armor, I'm sure I would be simultaneously drooling at how awesome they look while rolling my eyes at the fluff. Also, no one can tell you how to run your army. A lot of people will have a negative opinion about the fluff though. If you don't care, more power to ya. You not caring does NOT validate the fluff however.

See this is the kind of thing I'm talking about. Do what you like, the army will probably look great, but don't waste any energy trying to justify it. Writing up fluff that is not only completely new but also 180 degrees from anything GW has ever put out, fluff that we all know to be completely impossible in the 40k universe is lame. Just say, hey, it doesn't fit the fluff but chaos grey knights look bitchin', and leave it at that.
GW: Grey Knights CAN NOT be corrupted.
Hobbyist: "Oh, but maybe they CAN be... wooooOOOooooo spoooookkkyyy!!!"
GW: No... no they can't. Hasn't ever happened, will never happened.
Hobbyist: Oh but wait, maybe there was a huge coverup and grey knights really can be!! lawl!!!11!
Gw: . . .
I could say ultramarines wield plushie hammers and shoot chocolate bubblegum, and this whole bolter thing is a cover-up, but that doesn't mean it makes any since in the 40k universe.

See now that is a much better way to handle it I think

So, then, you're saying that there's nothing in the rulebooks about changing the game or rules to suit my needs?
Eric
...and, No. I do not play GW's game. I play MY game with the rules they supply. Until GW shows up at my gaming space and plays a game against me, it is NOT their game... just like the game YOU play in YOUR gaming space is YOUR game, and not GW's or mine.
