I registered for a few reasons:
1. Tracking unread threads didn't seem to be working quite right for non-users.
2. After logging in, I could turn off all of those annoying signature banners and flashing, animated avatars.

Apparently, I started posting because of the shininess of the Chaos Daemons codex. Has it already been two years since that codex came out?

Inboud...

Because of the lack of 'l33t' speak, the fact that the users are friendly and helpful, and because the P&M blogs were too good to miss.

I started posting after I found this site looking for Eldar tactica. I noticed the board, spent a few days checking it out and decided to stick around.

To piss people off with my right-wing loon, gun-toting, rhetoric.

Oh, and for the fact that the OT is better than any other OT forum on any other wargaming site.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Once upon a time, way back when, I met this guy Russ, or was it his brother, anyways, he suggested I join the site, so I did.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

After lurking for a number of weeks I came to the conclusion that this board needed a new member - a member who stood for virtue, justice and freedom. A member who would cut through the nonsense with the blade of reason and the sword of intelligence. A member who the others would look up to as a near-God-like figure as they basked in his everlasting glory. One who could calm the oceans of YMDC and bring peace between the tournament gamers and the casual gamers.

Then, being unable to find such a person, I registered myself and just started yelling at people.

It's worked out pretty good so far.

Hehehehehe, I started reading your post and was already composing a "So why did you join" response, then I read your second section and the people here at work are wondering about why I'm laughing.

BFG. This forum had a secrtion. Still does but it moves slower now.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Ah, good old YMDC. Yakface and Mauleed Dictate Conclusions.

I found this forum while searching for cool 40k sites. I guess I found one! Back when I started reading, Dakka still had a front page with a wraithlord on it, and a bunch of picture links. And a tyranid picnic. I registered to get help making my Iron Warriors. Those were the days.

The true story is that my civilisation was about to die, so my father put me into this space capsule and th... no... wait that's Superman.

What really happened is that there was this chemical spill that blinded me, and for some reason I could see Dakka by the shrill wails of the sycophan... no... that's Dare Devil. Hmm...

Ok, the actual story is that I was growing up on a farm when the Empire killed my aunt and uncle and this weird old dude asked me to help find a Princess... actually, that's Star Wars.

Ok, what really happened is that I joined to yell at Mauleed... but ended up agreeing with him and joined the fight against Godzilla... I mean Drew Riggo.

I was a lurker for quite some time. I joined because I liked the interaction between the regular posters and the relaxed moderation style. The majority of posters seem to be mature and have a good sense of humour, having fun and enjoying the hobby is more important than winning a point or a small argument.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I'd lurked on and off for a while and had enjoyed the forum.
When I moved to France I bought myself a decent digital camera and a spanky new laptop to stay in touch with the real world.
I figured that this forum would be a good place to stay in touch with the hobby and also felt it was time to give a little back.
1st post was a Biovore that i'd converted from spare Nid Battleforce bits.
It's been fun, thanks everyone.
