Imperial Guard, nothings better than puny humans holding their lines while Commissars threaten them and Russes echo in the background!

Secondly though Probably either Orks or DE, Dark Eldar are just YARRRG Space Pirates or slavers IMO. Orks are just Big Killin' Machines.

The pantheon variety of Chaos in all its forms for me!

Gotta say it's a close race for me between IG and Dark Eldar.

Dark Eldar have a awesome premise in my mind, dark, torturing melevolent race. Slave drivers, makes the urge to buy them almost unstoppable, just to have a chance to paint them. But got to hold off until theres new models, to paint the current ones would not do the scheme I have in mind justice.

IG, I like them because they most resemble a cohesive military force. You can't depend on just tanks or air, in the end you need lots of boots on the ground, some heavy fire support and those specialists to get the job done.

I have to say imperial guard. They have the most tanks in the whole game, commissars, psykers, convicted guardsmen,... Seriously, i Think The guard have the best fluff in the whole game. Also, they are just humans, protected by flak vests and armed with lasguns. That's what appeals to me.

also, they are the complete opposite of space marines.

Space marine player: 'Ha! I am a space marine! I have power armor and holy weapons blessed by the emprah called bolters. We are demi-gods! I have at my command 40 space marines some rhinos and predators!

Me (an Imperial Guard player): Ha, i have 120 guardsmen at my disposal, not to mention a dozen tanks. I can blow your army away in 2 turns...... Mah.

ive never bothered to buy the IG codex. what kinda fluff do they have? nothing as cool as a trillion year fight between gods who have the power of creation at thier fingertips that almost destroyed the entire galaxy(ie ctan vs old ones)

Tau, i love the combined greco-roman and asian influences, along with a down to earth combined arms military and pure technological might; guns are way cooler than swords...

Lucius gets off on pain and then regenerates through the body of the boasting individual that killed him. The list goes on...
They have character, which for me goes a long way.

Tyranids. How can you not love an army that wins thourgh a tidal wave of small bitey/stabby/shooty/melty creatures.

Imperial Guard, We have only 30+ different ways to crush you beneath our treads.

IG Id say...in a universe of superhumans clad in supposedly impenetrable armor, hulking monsters of all colors, and nihilistic beings taking slaves and or sucking the souls out of everything they can the Guardsman is a regular guy just like you or me clad in armor not to different from what we use today using weapons not too far advanced from what we currently use...how is that not awesome in and of itself...

Necron are a close second as anything with the undead theme is inherently awesome to me...now space undead well they found a way to improve on an already awesome theme!

The orks arent cool so much as hysterical! Id say they certainly have the best fluff and are by far THE most entertaining army in 40k...but I personally think its a stretch to call them the coolest (and they are my main army at the moment!)

I thank there are dozens of people who are afraid to admit they think space marines are the coolest for fear of being labeled a fan boy or something. how many of us started playing because space marines are so cooool?
I guess around here you get street cred by saying that your favorite army is one nobody plays...

I actually started playing because of CSM which you could say is some varient of SM but my current favourite is Eldar.

I love marines. Because I use a Templar style of ranks for my marines.

whats the coolness with IG? they pretty are much cowardly little army men with pathetic laser guns, and they need a pedaphile creeper to make sure they dont run away. oh yeah, the tanks but those are ok i guess
