The Inquisiton, simply because ive read just about every novel about inquisitors and grey knights going.

Thats mainly the reason why IG are cool i think. They are just men in a galaxy full of horrors and they still fight... and win Inquisition are still cooler though.

I play CSM and definitely am a fan of them (and daemons), but I have a soft spot for the orks.

Really? No one likes the Inquisition? Grey Knights and Battle Sisters > everything else.

the sisters of battle and grey knights are both parts of the inquisition.

That's strange, because I don't own a single Inquisitorial model. But I do own Sisters.

Maybe that's because Sisters aren't "Inquisition", they're Sisters of Battle, the militant arm of the Ecclesiarchy, occasionally used by the Inquisition to further its goals just like everything else (Space Marines and Imperial Guard are also used by the Inquisition-- they also occasionally use Xeno mercenaries and even daemons in the form of daemonhosts. So by that technicality, Marine, Guard, Kroot, Orks, Daemons, and Eldar are also "Inquisition", too!).

If a faction can be played as a stand alone army, it's an army.

Considering that 40k conflicts take place on a squad/platoon/company level, I wouldn't say the fact any of these armies can be played automatically makes them armies.

But yes, Sisters of Battle are by far the coolest force in 40k. Everyone else is just jealous.

You can't get past the humanity, the honest-to-Emperor true grit and determination shown by real humans. In a universe abounding with superhumans, inhuman aliens and monstrous beings, it goes to show something that man is still willing to do his bit with a lasgun and some guts behind it.

still guard to me. There is so much variation within the guard. Cadian, catachan, Tanith, krieg, mordian,...you name it. And the the abilitu to create your own planet + guardsmen = awesome.
