Here is a WIP on the dreadnought. I have no idea which design I should go for on the big crusade badge and I'm open for suggestions. It would be great if you could show a picture. Well, back to painting, just wanted to show you guys I'm still alive.

Astronomican Grey
Skull White

It's important to keep your paints really thin and build up the paint slowly. I think it was three coats of Codex Grey, around 5 coats of Astronomican Grey and then around 8 coats of Skull White.

Nice work allround - very strong contrast though, I personally find that a little more hues between extreme black and extreme white add a sense of realism. Almost like a movie filter. But this is just a matter of taste and yours is a very distinct and some how refreshingly clean and oldskool style.

Very much looking forward to more.

No, the Paining and Modeling forums actually open to ecverything. But there are pure 40k sections for rules, fluff and such, and there is a pure Fantasy section for the same things mentioned earlier !

First of all HELLO EVERYONE! I'm back to templars YAY!

Sorry I haven't updated this for a while. I've been working on several other projects and I just got thired of changing project all the time so now I decided to paint templars. Hope you're all glad for my choice?

I've started on 5 terminators that will be equipped with thunder hammers and storm shields. They have shoulder pads and storm shields from Forge World.

All of them have been basecoated and got their second basecoated painted on. Then I decided to paint each one of them separetely. Here is where I am at the moment. Expect more pictures because I will finish these guys until they're finished no matter what!

Lovely detail work. Ar you going to overbrush a highlight onto the red cape? It's not really necessary, but could make it look even better.

If you're talking about the marshall then no. He is done. There is always ways to improve a minature and I don't want to get stuck with one miniature for ever so..

, I'm going to paint my templars soon (I think) I like how you used that body for your commander/captain (I Keep on forgetting rank names). Good on you for the venerable. Good luck. Oh yeah i forgot to mention I really like the freehand templar symbol on the fore head of the commanders helmet.

You seem to take ages to paint things but the end result is well worth it. Nice job can't wait to see a finished BT army.

about your the guy with the axe, how did you get the aquila feathers so good. i make good attempts with my DA but they never look that good.

It's all about to have a steady hand, brush control and build up the layers smoothly with water in your paints. The process isn't that fast but I think it is worth the effort.

Basecoat with Chaos Black
Basecoat with Khemri Brown
Wash with Chaos Black + Scorched Brown 50/50
Wash with Devlan Mud
Highlight Khemri Brown + Bleached Bone
Highlight Bleached Bone
Highlight Bleached Bone + White
Highlight White

As you can see there are a lot of colors in here and a lot of layers so I'm telling you once again to keep those layers thin and smooth or else it won't look good in the end. Take your time!
