Amen Shuma. These xv9's fill and incredible need in the tau list. It allows one to focus other units for antivehicle. 6 splitfire broadsides and a hammerhead can concentrate on tanks, then xv9's can deepstrike and mop up troops. Throw some drones on them so they can auto break from melée and then fire next turn. They could even hit TH/SS and make it hurt. I guess the trick is what is the best optimal loadout? Gonna order the book first I guess before spending money, after all I still want to win.

I'd be awesome if they sold the weapons arms seperately, at least that way you could magnetize them so you can take advantage of all the options.

I gotta agree though, these really do help plug a whole in the tau empire codex. I love how they're fast attack choices too, they're not competing with other important choices.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

this Is AWESOME!! I want all of these but I only use games workshop rules in a codex. I could use these a lot and I want these for a new tau codex.

Games workshop owns forgeworld. These are games workshop rules.

I don't think that's really his point, Shuma.

Meh I don't care about the suits, but those stompa conversions, that's the sauce right there!

Sigh, being that I already own 20+ of the orginal GW XV-8 I don't really want to replace them all with these new suits. Having said that, I really like the new suits. All the new parts/weapons/bits should add lots of potential for very unique battle suit commanders.

i realize the XV-9's are a 'Fast' in the FOC, but I think they would look a little weird next to the old GW plastic suits if feilded in the same force.

Why? The old ones are Heavy / Elite, and these are Fast. It's like wondering why the US Air Force has A-10's as Heavy, F-23s as Elite, and F-16s as Fast. Similar units with forward cockpit, dual wings, vert & horiz stabs, but different look for different roles.

Is there a way to twin link that stompa gun when you put that Klaw on as well as the lifta droppa? DAKKA DAKKA!!!!!

On a funnier note, The Deff Dredd costs 50 bucks here, and the Stompa costs 100. Wonder whos getting shafted?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I think you misunderstand the scale of the suits. They're roughly 50% taller and considerably wider. They're comparably sized to a space marine dreadnaght though they lack the sheer bulk. These are not crisis suit replacements.

As an update(since I don't feel like going through my normal hooplah of copy/pasting an entire newsletter):

#234 just hit. The stuff previewed in 233 is going up for order, along with the new weathering powders.

It's on the FW site. Have fun.
