Lol your tyranids have nearly exactly the same scheme as my Deldar. Apart from where you have red i've got blue. The Pic showing your Imperial guard Army and Tyranid Army together is a highlight, absolutely excellent. I cant help but think your Mighty Guardsmen army is lagging behind the bugs though.

Wow, what an amazing colour scheme you have going there.

Your Mawloc and Trygon are just leaps and bounds above anything I've seen. I'm serious, it's almost discouraging to see how good you paint. Maybe you could slack off a bit and make a few mistakes here and there.

I really like the colour scheme because it makes the models look natural and not like a bunch of 'toys'. I feel like they're about to scurry across the table.

Was the Malefactor model from the Epic game series? I played around 3rd Edition and like Epic a lot. The Tyranid had some of the best looking models back them imo.

Thanks for the kind words. I am currently working on the army shot with 300+ of these painted beasties, want to finish my second Russian Tervigon for that. And since last week, I finally have enough foam cases to transport them.

And yes, Malefactor and Exocrine were originally Epic designs and models, but back then Armorcast got the licence to make 40k scale versions of those which you see in my thread.

Hey Mate i just finished building a Tervigon Prime and was wondering to get that red like affect at the end of the talons (lioke your mawloc pg 1) is that just the dwarven flesh that you used for joints and what not?

Sorry if this irritates you posting in a 3 month old thread. On posting this i was advised it would irritate you by the site lol.

It is just a bit Gryphonne Sepia (or Chestnut Ink in old models).

And I don't mind having posts in this thread
There will be an update soon when I finished another Russian Tervigon, two Mythicast Tyrannofexes and a Hydra.

I saw the Mythicast Tyranno beastie online and it did not look great.
I assume you have one in hand how do you like it?
I have one of the Russian Tervigons and I like the look of the model but felt it was too big, it is so close in size to all of the armorcast bugs that is just feels like a Gargantuan critter instead of a MC.

I really like the overall look of your army.

1.) With the Trygon a monstrous creature now on an oval base, I think the Russian Tervigon fits in size. It must have a certain size to spawn potentially 90 termagants per game. And monsters should be big and scary. Everything else grew in size as well.

2.) The Mythicast Tyrannos are the best option you can get currently. And I absolutely don't like the official concept sketch with the belly gun. The general look of the Mythicasts is great IMHO and fits the rest of the army, but I feel the need to add armour to the hind legs and some teeth with greenstuff. Having only 4 legs is consistent with the biovore (two legs transformed into the gun), the lack of eyes is consistent with hive guard. The resin is the cheap brittle kind though, as I realized when one model broke into pieces when falling from the table (now fixed again). The mythicast Hydra-thing doesn't need modifications and is great as is. Not on Russian tervigon or Forge World level, but good enough.

Well I eagerly await photos of the tyranobeastie painted up. I planned on scuplting up a few tyranos after my tyrant wings and swarmlord projects wrap up. I plan on using the same legs on the swarmlord and Tyranofex, possibly even refitting them onto my Tervigons.

All my projects are here http://warfrog.blogspot.com/

The second Russian Tervigon (built but not painted), 2 Mythicast models counting as Tyrannofexes (build, need some greenstuff work and then paint), a Mythicast model counting as Harpy (build but not painted), then the long overdue new groupshot.

The Tyrannofex models are ready. Both are by Mythicast and slightly modified. I added Carnifex teeth, made the upper head a bit longer and added carapace to the hind legs. Also changed their pose a bit and added resin bases (one by Micro Art with tyranid bits added, the other by Secret Weapons):

Also finished the second Russian Tervigon:

Funny that in less than two weeks, the official models will probably be released. If they are half decent (and the tyrannofex doesn't have an organic crotch canon), I might by them as well. meanwhile, another non-GW Tervigon plus a Nemesis are on the way.

Thanks for the link to the posters, never noticed you replied!

The tervigon is one menacing character is he not? Loving the colour scheme still although I would be tempted to add another colour to the belly as it is a little bland for my tastes. As a whole though he is a damn fine looking Nid, can't wait to see more of them!

You have some fantastic nids. The subdued hive colour is really unique.

Using the gamera Legion figure as your Bio titan is really inspirational! I finally broke down and bought the Legion model kit to make my own {it cost less than the toy would have].

Here my conversion of a Tyrannofex. The official version doesn't make sense as all 4 legs are behind the center of gravity, it would fall over. So I made a big Biovore. I used 2 barrels, because one looked too tiny and the Tyrannofex has 2 shots after all. The fore legs represent the Thorax swarm.

Here my Flyrant, again with a Micro Art Studio base:

Great stuff Kroot... this army must be ridiculous in size at this point!

I like the Tyrano conversion, much prefer that configuration (like it was in the rule book, more or less) than the giant bug carrying a gun in the hands look.

Your Tyranofex looks AMAZING! Do you have any WiP shots of it? or can you say how you did it? I'd be very curious, but would also understand if you'd rather keep that conversion for yourself.
