so i finally started to paint my razorback/rhino/predator
and i used the salt weathering on a tank for the first time.
first of all a pic of how it looks like on a base:
small bases
60mm base
what i did:
primed the rhino black
applied scorched brown with a sponge, followed by a mix of bestial brown/orange,followed by boltgun metal/scorched brown
then i used a brush to apply hairspray and put salt on the still wet hairspray.
after that was dry i airbrushed the whole thing with adeptus battlegrey and again let the whole thing dry before removing the salt with a brush.
will do more rust on the next rhino ^_^

it's a cool effect, but shouldn't there be more gradation? There are heavy spots, and then it seems to just drop into nothing. It'd be more convincing to me..

true, but it was more like a test and the rest will be done with a brush.

It looks cool, I'm likely to refer back to this when I'm ready to paint my wolves vehicles.

The combination of salt weathering and sponge weathering together just seems odd. But I guess it depends on the effect that you were after.
I would have gone with one or the other, but that's just me. Either way good stuff, always nice to see more wolves.

thanks.
almost all of the legs are standard sm/ sw legs, its really just a matter of how you pose them on the base and the upperbody.
heres another update for you guys:
first of all,i made a gs press mold from the fw land raider doors to use them for my razorbacks and rhinos
speaking of which,im like halfway done with the razorback.
also tried to paint glowing lascannons, probably wont do it on the next raz

I really like the las cannons. And your icons make me want to make friends with someone who owns some forge world so I can make some molds for my land raiders and drop pods.

About colour....personally i don't like some armour colour like yellow or green........to shine for a battle field. Green can be good for a jungle mission or similr.

I think you should make a puppy on a leash and call him fenrir. I would totally give it a 10.

tried a lot of greys, this is what i think looks best althou it looks more like pre-heresy grey.
long time ago i painted a grey hunter in space wolves grey. what a disaster
about the wolf + leash thing:
i really want to do this, but as its not really possible to field the mini it will be a showcase project for later.
thou i can put a lord with 2 wolves on a 60mm base and field it as twc in friendly games
