I've been debating making combat servitors out of Tyranid models. A little surgery to remove any psychic link and self thinking ability and some painful implants and TAA DAAAA!!! Really ugly servitor! Sure this would take lots of experimenting and be cost many human lives to capture said Tyranids, but so what, they'll make more. Tyranid capturing would make fun 40K or kill team scenarios anyway. Inquisitors capture demons, why not bugs?

Either way, if I can find any bug models that aren't painted, I'm making up a few.

P.S. What happens to Kroot that eat Tyranid brains?

In one of the Ultramarines books they capture a Lictor in order to experiment on its genes to make a virus.

While in his books they do have their fanatical-to-the-point-of-blindness members (as do the IG, and the Marines, etc) they also have competent, dedicated and wise individuals. Its good stuff.

I already have. Cain's Last Stand is a goo dread, but unfluffy.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

There are plenty of other traps and tricks built into Tyranids as well as them simply trying to slice you up though, like a body full of hostile Phage Cells that try and digest whatever they touch...

Honestly, outside of a few specific examples it's probably not worth the hassle.

Yes, but you over look to important driving factors.

A) it would look really really cool.

B) "FOR SCIENCE!"

Damned straight. Just checking back through the Ultrasmurfs series, and Uriel captures a lictor. Cool much?

Not the quadrinity of Chainsword, Bolter, Flamer, and Meltagun.

I thought it was the trinity of The Bolter, Chainsword, and the Holy Flamer.
OT: Screw the fluff. There's around a million worlds in the Imperium and every Inquisitor will do one heretic thing in his/her life. So this "heresy" has probably already done.

I've actually talked to my dad about that point. From our understanding it's that the Kroot had been allowed to consume any Tyranids they managed to kill, they would take on the synapse of the Tyranid in question, thus the Hive Mind would be able to take control of them.

I recall reading something a while back about some Necron Lord keeping tyranids in some sort of xenos zoo and considiered himself some sort of zoo keeper. "Big Mitch" was his name I think. Or maybe he was just some poacher. I dont know.

Be aware that this background idea is totally unfluffy, as Tyranid flesh is taboo for Kroot and any Shaper would prevent that (read "For the EMperor" or "Index Xenos: Kroot" for details). Totally unpredictable what would happen if two gene stealing mechanisms (Kroot, Tyranid) would fight each other.

Yes, and we took that into account, if you had noticed that I said "From our understanding it's that if the Kroot had been allowed to consume any Tyranids they managed to kill, they would take on the synapse of the Tyranid in question, thus the Hive Mind would be able to take control of them."

I just forgot the if, thus giving an entire different meaning.

Also, thegrav, go ahead, I don't mind.
