I just checked the Dutch & German prices on the GW website, and they are still the same as well.

So can I safely conclude that these raises are not actually world wide and our countries (maybe all of mainland Europe) keep the same prices?

Well, looks like I won't be expanding any of my armies from now on. Short of smaller, single mini projects (inquisitors, etc.), I guess I'm done with GW :/

I wouldn't go that far. It's only a very slight increase for most things. 20 dollar set becomes 22.75. 57.75 set becomes 62 dollar set.

It's not significant enough for me to stop playing, but significant enough to make me reconsider what I'm paying for in the first place.

It costs less than a dollar to make a land raider (For GW,not us). They sell it for 60-some dollars. That's a 6000% Profit,if my arithmetic is right...Or maybe it costs more for them, but I doubt it. They own the machines that make the sprues, and bulk plastic isn't that expensive for a little plastic mold of a tank.

Well, whatever. More money in their pocketses

You might not agree, but I happen to think Blood angel are quite a bargain, for the quality of the miniatures. I've never seen a marine kit better than the sanguinary Guard. Those have to be some of the best models they make.

Although much of that cost comes from GW being poorly managed.

57.75 set becomes 62 dollar set.

That's almost $5, I wouldn't call that "slight". Same with codices too, which are now $4 more expensive and for what reason? They're still mostly black and white, they're still paperbacks...back when I got into the hobby I personally thought $20 was asking for a little too much for them, it's just getting ridiculous now.

As I said, I just can't support a hobby like this on an army scale anymore. I love painting miniatures, it's great fun, but gamesworkshop has really started to cross the line. This price increase is much larger than I would have expected. I was always turned away from vehicles because of the cost, but this makes it even worse. And with the large amount of mechinization required in todays metagame, I just can't keep up. Going in, I knew that the hobby's expensive. It's something that you have to accept from hobbies. But this is getting nothing short of rediculous.

Short of pet projects and skirmish games, it looks like GW wants to remove me from their consumer base.

GW are making money off the people that see it as "its only a few dollar increase , god"
when the reality is they have just raised the price by 15%-20% or more.

Prices have gone up in many different countries, but what items were price adjusted and by how much percentage wise differs from country to country.

True, but relative to the price of the set,if you set it up as a ratio: 57.75/62 and 35/37.25 ......

You get something like 0.939597 or around a 10% increase on basic infantry and about 0.931451 for tanks, which is about the same:10%

So really, with respect to the "original" cost of the set, we're paying roughly 10% more for the exact same thing. If anyone else did this (let's say..Apple,the computer manufacturer), people would care more, because their product's cost more. Not only that, but since GW is a relatively small business (compared to something like Apple inc., or even something like Mattel), their products have a limited audience, and they need to make as much money as possible from their limited customers to equal out their spending (equilibrium,or whatever).

After reviewing the evidence I compiled, I've reached the conclusion that GW can charge as much as it wants for the products it sells, and we have no say in their decision,at all . I can see why the price hike is a good idea for them, and from a business perspective, it was a good move. From a customer perspective, it was a dreadful move. I've gotta pay 10% more than usual for things I've been saving up for, great.

Once again, at least your not in Australia.

Our dollar is roughly equal to $0.9 American dollars, but while you are paying $62 for a large tank, we are paying $103, where an equivalent price using equivalent currency values should have us paying $69.

Seriously, I honestly do not know why there are still people out here in AUS who pay RRP, it's stupidly over inflated.

Whoa!

I knew there was a price rise, but I somehow missed that Battlewagons are now going for $62 USD!

Weren't they just $55?

HOly friggin frack they really ARE $62 each. I also just recently paid (GW price of $55, though my LFGS usually undercuts the GW price by $5 or more dollars) for a battlewagon. When the hell did that take place? I hope the rest of my army isnt getting a price hike, Ill be a sad panda for sure

The biggest price hikes are going to the plastic kits, or at least that's what I've noticed. None of the metal kits I've been looking at have gone up at all.

Well then, it looks like you're going to be a sad Panda. Nobz, Boyz, Stormboyz, Kommandos, Tankbustas, and Lootas all got an increase of about $5 (that's 20% in some cases!). It seems to hold true for most units in other armies as well. Basically a $5 increase across the board.

Where are you getting your numbers from? Nobz and Stromboyz stayed the same. The rest went up by $3. Exaggerate much?

Check the site. Stormboyz used to be $25 per box, now they're $30. Nobz used to be 25, also 30. Kommandos and Tankbustas were $40, now $44.75. Lootas and boyz were 23.95 (or were they $25? I remember buying my Lootas for $23.95), now they're 29.75.

It was also funny noting that the normal Dreadnaught costs more than the Venerable Dreadnaught.

A 40K tank costs the equivalent of a new release PC/Console game with the increase.
We've never had parity with the exchange rate.

At least Canadians can make a valid comparison to the US dollar as overheads for shipping would comparable.

A 40K tank (in Australia) costs the equivalent of a new release PC/Console game with the increase.
It's the same in the US. A new tank is now $49.50, $62 for a Land Raider or Valkyrie. These are comparable prices for new Wii and Xbox type video games.
