Maybe I'm dense, but how can I check the site to get the old prices?
To be fair, I'm going off my memory but I'm building an Ork army and I've been pretty up to date with the Ork prices.

I don't believe you can do that. Once they change the price to the new one it's the only one that shows. Unless you've recorded the old prices somewhere you'll have to go from memory. Of course, it's not much help to know the old prices anyway. Not sure what good that information is at this point except to wax nostalgic for a less expensive past.

In contrast in Canada a new game such as Red Dead Redemption or Super Mario Galaxy 2 is 15 dollars less than a Battlewagon or Landraider.
Anything with a rhino chassis (or a dreadnought) is 3-4 bucks less than a new game.

Kind of tricky to paint up a copy of Red Dead Redemption, but I'm sure a dvd will pick up primer and paint just fine.

Just found this http://www.petitiononline.com/gwprice/petition.html. I doubt GW will listen but I went ahead and signed it.

GW will never listen to a petition, let alone one to lower prices. The only thing you can do to prove that this won't work is by not buying from GW. Significantly lower your purchasing habits, or stop purchasing from GW completely. You can sign as many petitions as you want, but so long as GW still makes money, it won't matter. They're not obligated to do anything for you, and you're not entitled to anything from them.

I agree with Fafnir , GW will never care about petition even if they know you are dead serious about it.
Because they know there are plenty of others willing to pay for their product , so they lose you patronage
but there are plenty of fishes in the sea , thats how GW do their business.

As I've said, I plan to limit my GW spending from now on. If I want to buy a GW model, I'll buy in small quantities, or as bits (one thing I love about Sentry Box is that they sell individual sprues ), I'll avoid GW plastic kits (the main victems of the price increase), and focus more on metal and resin kits. If an alternative kit is available from another company, I'll buy that instead. Simple. You don't have to give up your hobby completely to voice your economic opinion.
