See, I knew you and I could find common ground on something, and this is it. I think Red Meat is hilarious, but 90-odd percent of the people you know will just look at you strangely when you share it with them. So I just enjoy the strip and keep it to myself.

It's might be more related to the artist than the comic itself. I haven't read CAD in years, so I don't know if he still does it, but some of Buckley's biggest issues were blatant copy-pasting (to the extent of changing nothing but the word balloons for an entire strip), and yet having a massive ego over his talent, stealing jokes or punchlines from other webcomics years after they were actually topical or relevant. He was also the epitome of capricious-nazi-forum-mod, axing users, threads, subforms at whim, culminating in an incident where he allegedly sent a picture of his dick to an underage forum-goer, and in the aftermath banned everyone who said anything at all about it, including, 'I was on vacation, wtf is up with all the bannings?' CAD might be funny now, and when I saw them posted elsewhere, I liked his Warhammer related one, but the Buckley's behavior has just made it really hard to read it without being aware of the douchey shadow he casts over it.

Heh.

I actually remember the incident in question!

An underage forum-goer(who was registered as a legal adult) had spammed the hell out of a "serious" subforum(a section where the different artists on the forum posted their artwork for comment and criticism) with Goatse, Lemonparty, etc. One of the mods temporarily banned said forumgoer, who then used dummy email accounts to make 14 more accounts and continue what he was doing prior to his banning.

Apparently, following the banning of those accounts the kid's "father" emailed a complaint because of the fact that his son had, in his history, the threads with Lemonparty et all.

Was fantastic eDrama.

Character development in QC... I think you may have a brain embolism.

We talking about the same comic?

Most assuredly.

Of course theres no character development, none of the characters have become married or formed any relationships that have lasted beyond a single strip.
the characters are basically emotionless, with no discernible attributes at all.

or not...

Well so far none of them have become married. Except Jeph and possibly the Roombas. But we're not counting them, seeing as one's the author and the others, automated vacuum cleaners.

technically Marten's father married his gay lover, because he asked Marten's permission to do so, although that was a while back.

Cheers for putting me onto that Red Meat comic, that's hilarious stuff.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Yeah, definitely. Show it to the wrong person and they're liable to think that you're 'slow', a murderer, or both!

@sebster - I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

That's odd...

Did you stumble onto this after looking at the "greater internet ****wad theory" comic?

Because I found this exact comic earlier today after following a link to that comic.

Also, Penny Arcade is often funny, but sometimes isn't depending on what games the reader is interested in, as that determines whether they understand the jokes. (most of the time)

Forever alone

I prefer Cyanide and Happiness myself. It gets so dark it's disturbing at times but that's my kind of humour.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

agreed, some of the stuff on there is worrying, but at other times I have to physically stop myself from bursting out laughing.
