So I've made a bunch of progress in Starcraft II, finally beat the campaign last night. Unfortunately I've not gotten much progress done on the Skinks. Been several days since the last update though so I figure I'll get up some new shots of what I have managed to do.

First up is the Slann's Palanquin with the top side of all the leaves done up in their pink base coat. This is something I should be able to easily get done in a day, but all those extra branches I added on for a better look make it a real pain to paint. Need to set myself a goal of having it done before Thursday's game night.

Second up are a trio of Five Lined Skinks. It's a really simple pattern, and again would be easy to do if I sit down and work on them. I've not painted up their gear yet, and am still deciding if I want to paint their shields yellow or red.

Also, still soliciting ideas on how to make Rain Forest/Jungle bases.

Oooh, love the skinks, nice work! Maybe blending the cream and blue a little bit would help though?

For bases, either stick sand and paint it a dark, mulchy brown or make a mud mix of burnt umber a bit of static grass, sand and pva glue and slap it on the bases.

Then put small clumps of underbrush or coarse turf (ie. from woodland scenics etc) and some jungle plants (i use the citadel ones). Basically, try to stay away from grass bases!

Hope that helps!

Carved down a set of legs from an old Saurus Cold One rider. How's it look? You can click the image to get a much larger view of it.

I've clearly been quite lazy these past couple weeks and have gotten very little done for any of my armies. Probably won't get a whole lot of painting done anytime real soon as I want to get my Warmachine stuff all fixed up for some tournaments this month, but I did pick up and get built an Engine of the Gods this week. Picked up another of the Chiefs that I use for my Priests, giving me three figs to represent two characters. As with the first Steggie the Priest uses pins in the feet to keep him on the throne, so if he dies before the Steggie I can take him off. Current plans are to only represent two of the crew on the howdah and make him up to be Skink versions of Temple Guard, for which I am working on getting my hands on some rat/Skaven skull bitz for the bone helmets. Find some fancy shields, and probably give them each the Chief spears from this kit.

You got some nice plans for this project. To bad you got to take a break from it with your warmachine. But looking forward to more updates on this.

The new lizards look good. That chair is still so amazing. I'm excited to see it with some paint. Glad to see you are still working on it.
