The lyrical meaining behind "Afterlife", as said by Zacky Vengeance "A person that finds themself in the afterlife, and realise they have too much stuff on Earth to do, and have to make things right by going back."

Fast forward to one minute.
Sounds a bit unfair true, but doesn't hold any lyrical meaning of pain deep inside.

Go listen to some emo bands and then come back please.

Okay, I'll admit that I was overgeneralising on the last post, I was mainly talking about Disturbed, who are one of my pet hates. I lumped Avenge Sevenfold in there because it's mainly the same people who listen to said bands. Also, I use a very large brush when painting things as "emo" or not.

I will agree about Disturbed. They have a neat sound, howere their lyrics are plain awful, and the lead singer is boring as hell. Plus I had to listen to that crap everyday at the wieghtroom in High School. I would play one song off my iPod and it was blasphemy to the guys who like gakky Disturbed or newer Rap music. Blech!

Fair enough. I understand how anyone can hate a band if they have to listen to it all the time.
For the most part, I agree with you about disturbed. I like osme of their songs, but find most of them aren't worthwhile.

But if you come near A7X I will cut you with a fething rusty spoon.

Okay, fair enough, I'll stop ragging on "A7X". Also amusing to notice that it doesn't say feth in your quote while I'm typing this, but it does in the forum. Swearing filter I guess.

I like to hate on Disturbed because I spent 9 months living the floor above some crystal-methamphetamine users who would constantly blast Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, etc, at all hours, which the landlord refused to do anything about. Are you insane? That would be like f***ing heaven for me! In fact please tell me where you lived before, I'd like to move there immediately!

It's called a stage name. Your point is invalid.

On a lighter, note, holy f***ing sh**. I just got back from the concert and it was the single most intense concert I've ever been to. My head is in agonizing, blissful pain, my ears are ringing, and my throat feels like I've been drinking liquid sandpaper for 5 hours straight. In other words, it was awesome! The best part is, between bands they actually played good music; almost the entire stadium was singing along when 'Creeping Death' came on, and it was just the background music between bands! If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pass the f*** out now...

It's really, really not. They had a massive bass system, so there was literally no sleeping if they were cranking the music, which was most of the time. And if you think living above crack-heads is heaven, try having people kicking your door in at 3 am trying to rob the downstairs tennants for their drugs, having to leave your house to catch some shut-eye, constantly having music you hate pumping through the floorboards, in a non-insulated building that amplifies noise. They left broken glass all over my landing and stairs too. (the access to both places was downhill from the street) In short, it sucked grox-balls.

While I disagree with your taste, I can't disagree with that feeling. Got the same buzz from many awesome gigs, most notably Slipknot (back when I was 15, at a gig with 30k people), and more recently Immortal, Nile and Cannibal Corpse. Fething great to be alive after some live metal!

It was a question, one which you deemed appropriate to answer, thereby making it valid. I love it when people try to be cleverer than me.

Hey be fair, I made no claim at being clever. And really, if you were expecting 'clever' out of someone who not only went to an all-day rock/metal concert, but also saw 2 of their favorite bands playing in a row..?

I do like how you didn't try to dispute the stage name part though.

I haven't been to a concert in 10 years. I used to love it when I was younger, nowadays it just hurts my ears and the pot smell just gets old after the first 2 minutes. I guess I'm just getting old :(

But I'm happy knowing nothing could ever top the last concert I went to. Halford opening for Queensryche who open for Iron Maiden. I was in the 3rd row. It was metal heaven for me.

Now when you say '3rd row', do you mean 3rd row seat or 3 people from the stage? If you were seated then you can top that easy. I must say that's a sweet lineup though.

Hehe, I went to a gig just after christmas, a band called Kora. Mostly dub/reggae but with influences of rock, rap and metal. Anyway , the pot smell there was so strong that I went in sober and came out wasted! (IMO not actually a negative)

My version of "metal heaven" was getting to the front of the stage/front row at Cannibal Corpse. 'Twas the s**t.

My seats were the 3rd row from the stage. It was a smallish outdoor ampitheater in scranton, pa, not a stadium. The crowd there was all awsome but not the rush the stage type. Lots of old biker guys there for Halford, was kinda funny.

Only time I was ever in the very very front was 1990 at the troc in philly, I was squished up against some flipped over banquet tables that they flipped on their sides to keep the kids away from the stage for soundgarden before mtv got ahold of them (and they sucked ass live), and danzig, but I was right up front Some dummy got up on stage and tried to grab the mic and instead glenn punched him in the mouth and he got carried out the back door. the kid dropped like a sack o potatoes. Was pretty funny. The band just played on

Anyway, back on topic... what was this thread about again?

I have some views about that music ( Im not a fan) but it doesn't matter what I say, as it's my opinion and I don't have the urge to force it onto others. That said Jimmy Hendrix and Motorhead are the shizzz!

I wasn't going to post any Iron Maiden because everyone likes them (including myself) so I thought you would assume I enjoy there music. I like Rob Zombie, Van Halen and Thin Lizzy too but I only have so much room plus I wanted to showcase

more thrash metal anyway.
