Yes, I saw this thread but I don't think I could match anyones skills there You didn't see me paint yet!
I'm sure you can! your converting skills are good enough! i would trade a marine with you. and you def improve, i know i have a ton, i'm thinking of new styles all the time
either way dont mean to take over your P&M blog
i really think you should have some wired up marine sticking from the top of those rhinos!!
maybe some techno bikers, that sounds dope too!

Thank You LeBaron, I hope to make a few more...
Thank You for your help, 1hadhq!
Sageheart, though I don't imagine the Iron Hands as a motorist chapter, I've got some ideas for those marines as well... Let's say some of them had the privilege to fuse with their vehicles...

Hi there!
I'm very happy because the postman brought me something yesterday and today as well. Let me show these to You now.
10 painted marines, 1 with a lascannon, 1 with a ML, a sergeant, and a commander and of course an apothecary. 2 of them have corvus helmets! I love those
8 more marines, 1 with flamer and 3 scouts.
I'm very happy with the marines because most of them have different kinds of arms than the figures I have what means It'll be easier for me to convert them. Since most of the shoulder pads are removable I'll be able to get IH shoulder pads and mount those on these noble marines
My Mk2 rhino arrived at last yesterday after 40 days!!! For the other package it took 4, which is interesting... Anyway as You can see this rhino is poorly painted and constructed and its gunner is beheaded I'll have to strip this and try to disassemble it as much as I can because this is just terrible right now. Just look at the left caterpillar tracks!
Also I'll try to post the tutorial about bionics tomorrow, I've already begun it.

Sounds interesting WM but I dont think its the best way to insert pics.
1) open 2 windows, one of the thread, one for the gallery.
2) in the gallery select pic, open the menue with the right mouse button, select 'copy graphics adress',
3) in the Reply to thread window, hit 'Image button' once , open menue with Right mouse button and select 'insert' ( paste ),
hit 'Image button ' again.
4) done, pic inserted. Dakka gallery will do the sizing for you.
(button at the top of reply window: hit once to open, hit again to close marks)
or
1) select 'attachments' on the bottom of the reply window, select pic from storage ( Harddrive or any other..)
2) Dakka will insert this pic at the end of the post, plus add it to the gallery. Sizing again included.
Disclaimer: I am not using a PC or browser set to english, so names may be wrong ( except for dakka's own buttons ).
Looking forward to pics.

If you can find it, Simple Green works great for metal and plastic figs. Nail polish remover can really eff up some plastic guys good.

So here's a bit more detailed conversion. I wouldn't really call it a tutorial because It isn't that precise but It will be quite obvious I hope.
First a new method I came up with to make some cables. I use 2 materials to make this, one is a cable of some sort which has a transparent plastic coating around it, and the other one is a simple plastic tube.
1. Take the cable and chop off a few millimeters from the plastic
2. Glue the tube on it with super glue.
3. Cut off the tube.
4. Cut the cable as long as You want it to be and do steps 1,2,3 on the other side of it.
5. Cut the transparent plastic off the cable and You're ready. You can twist it, bend it, do whatever You'd like to. I'll show You what did I do with it in a minute.
And let's see a bionic leg:
1. Cut out the whole thigh with an xacto knife till it looks similar to the the 2nd pic. You can easily harm the model (and yourself ) so always keep in mind where can the cut end if You lose control for a second. Never cut towards the weapon or the hand for example, always try to do it towards the cutting board.
2. Drill the back of the knee (popliteal?) and the groin. Usually I try to drill as wide and deep holes as i can because that means You can fit more tubes and cables in them. You should watch out though, because this can harm the model as well. Keep in mind that not only the tip of the drill-bit rotates
3. You are almost ready but this is the worst part. You have to fit in the bionics now. This model isn't ready yet but You can see what It got already. The wires from the first part of the post and the usual pipes holding the leg. That's very easy to do: just take some plastic tube and put a wire in it which fits. Voilá!
Before glueing the bionic parts in place always try to do it without glue to see if it fits and looks kinda right, for example: the leg touches the ground, the pipes aren't bent, the wires aren't too short (or long, Sageheart! ) and else. If everything is fine, glue everything and there You are! I didn't added the guitar string-cables to this model yet, but those are quite obvious I think. Cut them the length You want them to be, place them in their holes and apply some glue if You're sure They fit and look OK. I usually add plastic tube rings to the strings' ends because the glue works better with plastic than metal.
I just can't write down all the issues I've encountered while doing these modifications, but It wouldn't make any sense anyway. If You give this thing a try You'll notice how easy the whole thing is and how easy it is to resolve the problems which may develop on the way. If You have any questions though, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer them!

Hey there, I'm not lost! I'm just studying Turkish all the time so I don't have too much time to work on the SM. I got a huge batch of marines incredibly cheap (and horribly assembled/painted) so I'm trying to fix up a few and sell most of them. Mainly I strip paint nowadays, but I'm also working on the Mk2 rhino. Hope to post sg interesting next time
