Thanks for all the comments guys! I will not be getting as much done now that the summer is over and I have gone into grade 11. I will still try to find some spare time to paint and convert but it would be nice to pass all my classes before I get too carried away! If you have any suggestions for improvements don't hesitate to ask!

How's the Crashed Valk. coming along? It was looking fantastic! As for Basing it, I'd suggest a City Rubble Base. That way, you can have all sorts of debris, making it seem even more chaotic!

@popsicle, I have not done any more work on the valk as yet, I was thinking about a city rubble base, but I don't know if the colour would look good.

Looks like some sort of data-pad.

Yeah I did not really know what it was, but since he is in a space hulk, I put a little map of some corridors on it to represent the area he is in.

Nah... I have only played the game ONCE! there is not another soul about who knows about the hobby. I think the closest FLGS is in Halifax and too far away to travel to. If there was no such thing as dakka, i may not have been in the hobby at all

Well, it is the weekend! I should be putting up a few updates soon as I have finished a few more termies (I don't actually know how many I have but every time I finish one, another two just pop up!) I never got round to posing a pic of the dred for my army, the overall paint scheme is not to bad but it still needs basing and a few little details adding



C+C is always welcome, it is what I feed off to fuel my hobby!

BTW does anyone know what figures I would need to field a blood angels 1st company? I am guessing it involves a lot more termies to paint

Ok, so it is time for a big update, first off this is a termie that I just finished...



He has an arm plundered from a SH marine



And this is my Death Company squad all ready to be painted







Even though I have made a squad using the bits that come in the set, there is so much stuff left that I have heavily customized 10 other marines! (pics tomorrow)

These guys started life as LOTD figures, but before I painted them, I got a set of death company and we all know you can never have too many menacing black marines!






So far I have only painted one of them, but hey! it is a start







Oh, and for those of you who are lurking around and not posting comments (I know you are there!) please provide any good advice or inspiration.

Any ideas on why these death company have flames on their armour? maybe I will just give them a cool squad name like, well I don't actually have any ideas yet but I am sure they will come to me!

Love the terminator Sergent, the sword looks great! The death company marine looks good but the flames look kind of cheesy not Blood angel. I thought they were the Lost and Damned marines or something like that cant really remember the name of the chapter.

yeah I was going to scrape the flames off, but decided that I wanted my skin to stay intact for a week or two

maybe do them in kindof an iced blue that would def be diff.

Legion of the Damned, The Lost and Damned are chaos I think, but I agree the flames need to be a little different. bigmeklover's idea of a kind of blue flame might look cool. I don't think you really need to come up with any fluff for the flames to be there as if they are DC then they are considered lost/damned by their brethren already.

Also the downed Valk is an awesome idea for some tasty terrain..

I really like what you did with the "dead" Termie from SH, i may steal your idea.... i have been slowly converting the Termies to Ultramarines, so maybe some sort of representation of Guilliman is in order?

Go for it hcordes!, I think I will try the blue flames, it may make them look less like LOTD figures. I am surprised no one has ever tried the dead termie thing before! If you do use my idea I would love to see some pics of them!

does anyone know what colour to paint the joints in the marines armour? I do them silver, but I think from the pictures it is more of a plastic colour

Those blue flames look great Cain, they definately look different from LOTD marines now.

As to the joints or soft armour, you can do it whatever colour you like, I've seen Imp fist marines with red joints, so really anything goes. Why not try codex grey with 3-4 washes of badab black?

The blue flames get from me. Really differentiates them from the Legion of the Damned. Which begs the question why did GW not put the Legion in all the loyal marine codices? Oh well.

On a side note what are you using to base your terminators, it looks good?

So you have to buy a separate relevant codex of course . Good ol GW always have the gamers needs at heart really

It is the weekend tomorow so I will be posting like crazy, but this week I only managed to finish one ratling (base is nowhere near finished though)



I am thinking about persuading a local hobby store to start selling GW stuff, maybe I can get some people started in the hobby, it does get a little lonely on this island

PDH, i think that the stuff that I used to base the termies came in a big roll, its original use has been forgotten but I can find out soon! (the bases are not actually finished yet, I always seem to forget to do them)
