Busy day today, in a few hours I managed to finish my lord Commissar that has been waiting on a shelf for the best part of a year. I wil let the pictures do the talking

Nice, like that you went for the white gloves Still trying to decide if the sash should stand out a bit more - with the metal armour and white cape it kind of looks a little lost - not much mind, and it only really struck me after looking at it a bit - looked good in the first pic.

yes I do agree with you there monkeytroll, I was unsure as to what colour I should paint it.

I really wanna see the little assistant of the marine on the throne all finished up. Looks like it'd be a cute lil' guy.

Did you use the nmm technique on the marine? I think he looks awesome nmm or no (as well as the rest of your creations so far, of course)!

Thanks for all the words of advice and encouragement guys! I did not get as much done on the weekend as I hoped because I got a nasty cold (but it did get me a day off school!)
You will be happy to hear that I have once again started work on the crashed Valkyrie some of you can be very persuasive so I thought it was high time to finish it!

While I am waiting for the camera to reappear, I though I would show you a pic of my almost finished skaven doomwheel (because what is a blog without pictures!)



Oh and bunnygurl, the marine used to be NMM but in the later pics I changed it. I usually end up repainting everything at least once!

Ok people, made some more progress on the top half of the crashed valkyrie. I added a paved road and started to texture the base. I think I will make the city a less industrial one and more of a small colony, this will let me add a bit more character to the bases (like blown over newspapers, leaves and stuff).



the pave was made of a thin sheet of plastic with etched 2cm squares

Whoop! that was the 100th post on this thread largeblasttemplates! I will be working on the second part of the valk soon.

Yeah , and a path so they don't get their boots muddy. Cain its looking great, kudos for the commitment to total a Valk, not sure I could of done it myself. Will you be moulding any drag marks through the dirt where the Valk has skidded?

Yes I think I will do the drag marks, I just have to find a good picture to copy off before I start it. Thanks again for the continued support guys!

Just wanted to say, that i have been enjoying this thread a lot. Once i get my camera up and running i may copy your format and do my own... i have about 7 or 8 GW minature projects running as well, and this seems like a good way to keep the Dakka world up to date.

Nice looking stuff here, I really like the valk. Maybe pile up some sand around the nose so it looks buried in there. Maybe that is already part of the plan, like you said it isn't finished yet Can't wait to see more!

Your crashed Valk came out very nicely. Would make for a nice objective or for a sort of diorama piece; seeing as you want the less industrial look to it, maybe a battle that had taken place a while back and now this Valk just lays forgotten. I'm a tad inspired to do a piece like this of my own now.

The Valk is great maybe just as a suggestion may have the cockpit glass broken due the force of the crash and all, but other then that all is comming along great

I now have to add blue flames to some of my models.
Also, love the 'dead' termie. I'd give him a gold helmet, but give the helper red robes.

You don't think a gold helmet would just blend in too much? I was thinking of doing it white or maybe red.

Well, gold is the color he *should* have, (his status mark)
If the servant has red robes, the gold helmet would stand out well.

Hmm, adding blue flames to my Bad Moons (that I will be making) may look good.

I do love those blue flames, thanks for the suggestion guys! Might as well post a pic or two of my one and only tau model, I covered it with weapons and it must have been repainted at least three times but that happens to everything I paint! (the pics are a bit blurry, the macro setting was not being cooperative)

Parents are leaving for the week so I have the house to myself! I shall be busy trying to finish one of my many projects. Unfortunately I have had another bout of repainting and there are two sentinels on the painting table again! (they will be the same colour scheme as the tank on pg 1) I will post some pics of them when I have some better lighting.

Love the dead termie - I did something similar with a chaos terminator helmet to make a lazy nurgle lord
