Bit of a late night post as I have nothing better to do. The sentinel that I am painting ATM will be finished soon but I found a possessed marine the looked a bit lonely so I decided to paint it while the sentinel was drying off (very wet paint) Here is the said traitor marine

No I still need to finish the wings and put a bit more depth into the armour.

I also finished the doomwheel but the camera flash was refusing to switch on so it is a little hard to see.



there is actually a very nice lighting effect on the warpstone you just can not see it

Does anyone know what the FW weathering powders are like? I was thinking of getting some and trying them on the vehicles. If they are any good, what ones should I get to go well with the sentinel/tank?

I'm loving your work! I like how you're not just sticking to one army, but getting the coolest stuff from everything!

Excellent looking stuff here Cain; my only concern is it looks like the paint is a little thick on the Sentinel, other than that, good stuff!
As for the Forge World Weathering Powders: I really like them, I got them as a gift and have used them a little bit. Just get the full set, its always good to have a variety of powders to work with.

These are all looking great. I like the crashed Valk, though I do think it could do with some disturbed earth around it so it looks like it's actually dug itself into the ground, rather than neatly shaved off the bottom half of it

As for the weathering powders... I've had mine for ages and only just tried them this evening. I have to say they are very easy to work with and produce great results in no time at all.

OK so I think I will get the powders. I have also ordered the masterclass book as it looks like there is some very nice stuff in it. And hey, I also got myself some DKOK at last! (yeah I know, I am having a bit of a FW binge, but it is all in the rightful cause of the Emperor!)

Look at the tamiya weathering powders as well, they're probably cheaper to get large variety and they work well dry or wet. never used the FW ones though...

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to make "trench" bases. I was going for a wet, shiny kind of mud as if it has been trodden through a lot. I have heard that gloss varnish is quite good, but I wanted to ask the experts first!

I have a whole lot of guard begging for their change of terrain (such as this guy)

It is a great miniature (in the citadel hall of fame if I am not mistaken) He is undergoing his 6th (!) repaint and I want him to fit in with my new DKOK.

Sentinel and mud effect finished (I had a lot more written than this but I deleted it twice so I am a bit mad now )








Threw together a twin-linked lascannon using two lascannons and a SM bike part. Quick and easy.

not sure if there is anything in the official dex, but FW makes a turret just like that so I felt like copying it. (people really do love those valks... maybe I should finish them!)

Oh. I was kinda thinking it was intentional, the missing toe. Wait wait wait. You didn't notice a missing toe? Well no matter. And yes, I have seen it for myself, the annihilator or just plain Elysian. Either way, though, I'm not quite sure if there are actual rules in the codex, but there's the fun in converting without minding. Anyway, so says Kaesar, Eat your cereal and get to da choppa

Great looking stuff, like the sentinel colours especially. I have thought about doing a Desert Rats IG army, that sentinel would fir that idea well.

When I first saw the missing toe, I had assumed it was suppose to be sunk into the mud. I thought it was a pretty cool effect

Looks like the valk is going to have to wait a little longer, I have been approached by quite a few people in the great marine swap and am having to franticly paint up LOTD models like crazy!
