Casual misspellings and grammar mistakes are a fact of life, and nothing to get in a huff about. It's the mistakes that seem to become common parlance that make me shake my head.

As for txtspeak, 1337, netspeak, etc., I feel like they're fine in small doses, especially if applied in an ironic sense. More so if part of an otherwise intelligible post. When that's all the user seems to be able to write in though, it becomes a problem.

I write Administrative Law decisions for a living, and I think I spend more time planning out my Dakka posts than I do what I write at work.

I think that in general, if the ideas are expressed clearly, than the spelling and grammar are at least as decent as they need to be. I haven't noticed a drop either. Maybe I simply gloss over clearly poorly written posts, but I tend to focus on the good stuff.

Dakka is so 1337, we spell it Elite.
I think this is one of the headers here in dakka

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
